I missed the first point because of commercials, but I see it’s now 15-15 after winning the second point.

You are right Margaret, nerves are playing a part, croatians tend to crumble under pressure and it looks that's what happened here.

Even playing just half the season, Novak winds up earning almost $10 M! It's more than $2 M more than Carlos & Rafa? Wow! :face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy: :astonished-face:

https://www.essentiallysports.com/a...one-third-of-roger-federers-earnings-in-2022/

"Roger Federer earns considerably more than Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, despite being inactive
The Forbes list of highest paid tennis players features Roger Federer on the top. He has been paid $90 million dollars, before taxes and other deductions. Other than that, his rivals, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, are not even right behind him. Right behind him is the WTA tennis star Naomi Osaka, who is followed by Serena Williams.

Rafael Nadal stands at no.4 with $31.4 million and Novak Djokovic is next with $27.1 million in earnings. Nadal’s earnings are one-third of Federer’s earnings and Djokovic has earned even less than that. Federer has been out of the circuit for more than a year after his knee surgery."

Oops I over slept the first singles rubber between Italy and Canada has started,
Singles match,
L. Sonego vs D. Shapovolov 1 set all, Sonego 76 (4), 2nd set Shapovolov 76 (5)
Early in the 3rd set, on serve 3 games all
DF from Denis Shapovolov on MP and Sonego wins the match 64!....a horrible way to lose a match !
L. Sonego defeats D. Shapovolov 76 (4) 67 (5) 64. A lot of credit must go to Sonego, who was added the team of Italy, after Matteo and Jannik withdrew due to injury, he has really stepped up 'big time' for Italy in this tie

2nd singles match,

L. Mussetti vs Felix Auger-Aliassime, this is a must win match for Canada to keep them in the tie.
FAA with an Ace closes out the 1st set 63
Close 2nd set, Mussetti with UFE's and FAA breaks and will serve for the match 5-4
Felix Auger-Aliassime d L. Mussetti 63 64. BTW Hawkeye live lost, power, chair umpire, Alison Hughes calling all the lines

Canada and Italy are 1 all
The doubles rubber will be played to decide if Italy or Canada go through to the final against Australia
Official attendence for todays semi final is 9423.

S.Bolelli/F. Fognini vs V.Pospisil/ D. Shapovolov

Both Italy and Canada have made changes to their original doubles line up, Berrettini will replace Bolelli for Italy, seeing he had a foot injury, earlier ,to me this is madness, Bolelli has been playing well, Fabio and Bolelli are an experienced doubles team. ( though Bolelli maybe injured) FAA will replace Shapovalov, apparently Denis having back trouble.Just read after the match that Bolelli did sustain an injury in his previous doubles match and Berrettini was asked to play with Fognini in the doubles

F. Fognini/ M. Berrettini vs V.Pospisil / Felix Auger-Aliassime

Italy did have a break in the 1st set and was targeting the serve of Pospil, broken and it went to a t/break Canada too good winning 76(2), Italy making too many UFE, Canada only 1 set away from making the final
Canada will serve for the match (FAA) and a place in the final tomorrow against Australia leading 6-5, FAA saved 2 BPs and held he serve wining 75 2nd set
Canada won the tie 2-1, again when it mattered like their doubles match against Germany they raised their game.
Well deserved win for Canada!

Canada will play Australia in the DC final tomorrow
This is the first DC final since 1981 with no European teams.
It will be the 11th meeting between Australia and Canada. Australia lead 9-1, the loss was last November in Madrid
