That was an ugly opening question in Djokovic’s press conference.
Because that’s like congratulating juniors for becoming seniors, because the seniors graduated.View attachment 5090
Meaning, the young guns have improved--and are improving--but the old guys are getting older.
Congratulations..you babe played well..I.hope he wins this damn tournament. He's on the way babe.
Bad back for a long time and then knee surgery. He's only 30 but his career in tennis is finished at this stage it seems. Unfortunate. Not retired but just physically wrecked.Talking of HH, what happened to the other polish player, drop shot king JJ. Did he retire officially?
Yes he did....he does have a good game on grass, taking out the German in 5 sets was the high light for me.I'm proud of FAA. He really had a good tournament..Clean up the open stance FH and the titles will eventually come.
That's what's so concerning! Lucky Djokovic is a "return machine," but he can have a bad day; anyone can, esp. with so much riding on a win! Both Berretini and Hurkacz seem to be serving bombs. That SF will be like old time wimbledon matches.
Novak's game is consistency.. Denis has no pressure and will be swinging away.. however it will not be enough to defeat Novak. Novak is the type of person that you have to get into an Alley brawl with and know that you may loose a few teeth to win the fight. That's what's so concerning! I'm having high hopes for Korda. A lot of game and a good head. It’s good to see Canada producing some great tennis players. Now if only the United States could follow suit. Hopefully, Korda comes into his own soon.
He's more disciplined that he was, but one does wonder if he'll ever really learn to play with margin. He is still only 22, but he's got a wild streak. He would have to be massively "on," with a solid game plan, and hope to make Djokovic grumpy early. If Denis can get an early lead by taking the first set and keeping pressure on, Novak might start to feel the weight of the history that he's trying to accomplish. That's the only chance, really.Denis has the fire power to challenge, but he doesn’t know how to play with margin in a way that wins tournaments consistently yet.
We can pray that it is Windy on CC............He's more disciplined that he was, but one does wonder if he'll ever really learn to play with margin. He is still only 22, but he's got a wild streak. I thought of that, but Shapo plays with too little margin. Hurts both. But it does do Novak's head in more than is strictly necessary, so there is that.We can pray that it is Windy on CC............
