Great Nick has had a bad fall at the back of the baseline, landed awkardly......Have I mentioned I hate these slippery grass courts, players should be wearing 'ice skates' instead of shoes.
This is a good quality tennis from both players, shame it had to be a first rd match for either player.
Nick did have 3BPs....Hugo saved 2BPs
Nick breaks with a good fh return and will serve for the match in the 5th set 8-7
I'm glad Nick appears to be Ok. Good win for him

Watching FAA vs Monteiro.. Looks good so far..I really admire his composure..(still wished he would have gotten Sampras's coaching instead of Toni but we shall see)

I thought Toni stopped coaching Ralph since he is tired of coaching. If he is taking up on FAA, then that is not the reason. Is Toni also travelling with FAA or coaching him only at the academy?

Norrie has won beating Pouille as expected. In his second round match he is almost sure to win as he is playing a wild card (Alex Bolt of AUS).

Assuming, Fed wins his second match against RG, Fed will be playing Norrie.

Considering that Norrie is a British player, this match is certain to be scheduled on center court.

Do not listen to GSM he has Federer sunglasses. on..I am not baiting Federer fans I got that information from a tennis journalist who put that information on Twitter regarding the scheduling for Novak and Federer.

They don't make scheduling decisions that far ahead without even knowing who is playing whom. They do it one day at a time.

Just as I expected, they indeed put Fed on CC for his second round match as well.

This "grass" hurt more players than blue sand in Madrid.

Amazing what are they waiting for, broken leg ? Spectacors should be out because of humidity.

Sir Andrew will now have to win in 5 sets (scenic route) as the German qualifer Otte leads 2 sets to 1

2 games all 4th set
The roof will now be closed and lights will come on...both players have left the court
Probably a good time for Sir Andrew to gain some composure seeing he is down 2 sets to one.
Play now resumed on centre court with the roof and lights on
