From Tennis.now.com,

Federer on playing the upcoming Olympics, after his first match at RG earlier today.

"My wish and hope and dream is that I can play. But it needs to make sense for me,my team,my family,my country.I'm still waiting to see how things are going to develop the next couple of weeks and month".

Djokovic,

I'm planning to play Olympics for now.As I heard, there's going to be some crowd, local crowd from Japan only.As I understand,20%,30% of the capacity. If they change something,if there's not going to be any crowd then I'll consider if I want to go or not.Right now I am planning to go,and I'm very excited about that".

Interesting contrasts. Roger has said for rather a long time now that going to the Olympics is a good bit about giving his kids the experience of it. I'm pretty sure he no longer harbors the dream of the Olympic Singles gold medal. If Tokyo is not something he can bring his family to, I'm not sure he'll go.

Djokovic, I'm guessing, still wants to win the Gold, and thinks he might. But he doesn't like the restrictions. This has been his complaint since the beginning of the lockdown. His response was about the restrictions.

Serena also stated she didn't know if she would go to Tokyo if she can't bring her daughter. She doesn't want to be away from Olympia for weeks.

Nick Kyrgios has with drawn from Stuggart unclear when he will return to the tour.( Nick has been having uncomfortable pain in his neck at present,he cannot serve 100%.He will only return when he feels he can make full impact on the tour).

That sucks, especially at the best part of the season for him. Hopefully he recovers in time for Wimbledon. I remember years ago Stepanek had a neck surgery and played with a steel plate in his neck. Not sure if it stayed in or if they removed it at some point. Guess it stayed in tbh. Not like they'll remove a plate from your hip so even more likely to stay in the neck.

I see Jarry is back playing challengers since his doping ban expired. Didn't get much of a ban at all. Tennis doping controls (or lack of) are a joke.

This may have been mentioned before, and I’ve forgotten, but Wimbledon has eliminated their special seeding, and will go purely by ATP rankings for the first time in history.
They announced it last year when Wimbledon was cancelled, and it makes so much sense at this state in the mens game. There really aren't any more grass court specialists. I always suspected it was initially done to favor home grown British players....

Is this temporary and valid for just this year (as the grass court season was a washout last year). Will they bring back the beloved formulas from next year again?

I dunno, it certainly seems like the deletion of the formula is permanent based on how they phrased it.

The official announcement:
"Since last year’s Championships, we have also taken the time to give consideration to the evolution of the sport and the mechanisms of allocating seeding for The Championships. Given the quality of competition, entertainment and modern grass courts, following detailed discussion with the player groups, the AELTC has decided that the grass court seeding formula used since 2002 has served its time, and from The Championships 2021 seeding for the Gentlemen’s singles draw will be based solely on ranking. There will be no change to the method of seeding for the Ladies’ singles draw. " The AELTC Announcement
