There’s no way that’ll happen. The Tour made a huge mistake covering up for Agassi when he was found to have taken a banned substance, and of course he snitched on them in his excellent book.

But this is much bigger than that and it’s not gonna happen…

Thanks for sharing, didn't know about the Agassi incident. Well in that scenario it makes sense that they won't permit him.

Makes no sense in any scenario, really. Agassi cheated the game, but this isn’t only affecting the game, it would betray the Australian people, who are following the rules, and would suggest that neither the Australians or Djokovic are taking the pandemic seriously…

On principle I agree. But when there's so much money involved and so much at stake, can you blame them if they don't stick to their guns?

Ok then. Let's see how this story ends.
I think he’s jabbed but he’s probably staying quiet because he thinks he’ll dramatically steal a march on his opponents when he arrives, and also he’s probably sick of people blabbing about him in the press…

It would've been good if he had not started this drama at all. Seems silly to me. Why not just take the vaccine and get on with it?

One thing to note, as explained to us by Margaret, who lives in Australia, is that it's the Victoria government, not the tournament, that has put in place the vaccination mandate, so tennis doesn't have any wiggle room, even if they wanted to give preferential treatment. Though, as I have stated, I don't think it will fly, with players or the public, because it would be too obvious, after so much publicity over the issue.

Ah Ok. Thanks for explaining that, Moxie. Why can't AO get a vaccine waiver for DJ? I think he already got covid last year so he can skip the vaccine. Those who got covid don't need to take either or both shots.

Stan Wawrinka (remember him) will not play again on the tour until at least March due to his ongoing recovery from surgery, according to his manager.

It seems official, Nadal is going to play the ATP 250 in Melbourne. I think he is planning very well, first an exhibition to try how his foot works, then ATP 250 to better preparation and then the AO to be able playing more competitive, 6 months out of the court is too long

I remember him very well, what a shame! I loved his his game and more in the GS and I would have liked to see him playing two more years same like Murray but I think neither are going to be able to play like before :anxious-face-with-sweat:

Stan has had a lot of surgery recently on his feet, also he is not getting any younger, healing time takes longer.I guess we will have to wait and see how he responds when he does finally join the tour in March,2022.
