Remember Nadal's lucky draw at the AO in 2009 when he ran into a red hot Verdasco who had smashed Murray and Federer in the final? Having to play back to back five setters with one day of rest?

Remmeber Nadal's lucky draw when he had to play a bunch of big servers in the first week of Wimbledon in 2010, who took him 5 sets, then had to play Soderling and Murray? Remember Nadal's lucky draw in Wimbledon in 2008, when he had to play Murray and...the greatest player to ever live (and greatest grass courter to ever live) in the final?

Remember Nadal having to beat Djokovic to win his first 2 US Open finals (his path to the final was easy and yet he beat the toughest challenge he could have possibly faced in the final, so who do you think would have beaten him if he had played them on the way there)?

Please, shut the fuck up with this stupid bias.
Come on. Try to follow the discussion before making silly posts like this.

Yes Nadal has beaten Djokovoc twice before. However, recently Djokovic has been way better than Nadal on hard courts. I can understand it coming from a fan of Nadal. Nadal’s game has improved over the years, as he became more aggressive. The problem with some Nadal fans is that they are ticked off when they are reminded that important elements of his game include his grit and his stamina.
Djokovic has a bette serve and better return than Nadal, and those two qualities make it very difficult for Nadal to beat Djokovic on hard courts. As I said above, Nadal can still beat Djokovic with his grit. And there is nothing wrong with that.
Djokovic hasn't been "way" better on HCs than Nadal this year. Each has a HC Major and a MS 1000 on HC, and Djokovic has the 500 at Tokyo. If you mean in the h2h, well, yes, but venue matters, and at the US Open Nadal has had the better of Novak. And in his wins over him, he out-served him, having the overall better 1st and 2nd serve percentage. He didn't beat Djokovic because he has "grit," (or stamina, for that matter.) He outplayed him in both of those matches. It bears remembering that each of the finals they played only went 4.

You can say that you think it would have been a "demolition" had they met in the finals this year, but that's very easy to say, since the match never happened. There's no way to prove or disprove a "what if," so it's really just a facile way of getting in a dig, innit?

He did quote you as asking if Nadal doesn't need "luck" to win Majors outside of RG. I don't see that as not following the discussion. And there's nothing "silly" about the post. It's perfectly serious, and very informative. I don't think it has escaped your notice that some number of Federer fans around here like to keep pushing the notion that Nadal wins Majors because he's been "lucky." Nothing wrong with setting the record a bit more straight.

Djokovic has always been way better than Nadal on hard courts. Yet he never crushed him at the US Open including when Novak was in waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better form than he is now. And I love how every Nadal win is grit and stamina. Like I said, please GTFO with shitty analysis and bias. It's OK not to understand the game, but in that case please spare us terrible takes.

Kinda hilarious how often you accuse people of supposedly being home schooled and then claim Nadal should win Wimbledon next year. Statistics obviously weren't your strong point and, just to refresh your memory, he last won it in 2010 so you're expecting him to all of a sudden just win it 10 years later based on absolutely nothing, zero, nada. Amazing stuff. If a miracle happens and he does win, it's just a stupid fluke so it's all good. You'll proclaim yourself a genius then based on nothing but blind hope.

Listen Mr tell it like it is. Your rants can not change facts. Nadal is inferior to Federer Djokovic on all surfaces but clay. It’s true that he beat Djokovic at 2 USO, but you know very well that he is not as good as Djokovic. You are not the one to stop me stating the facts, Genius.

Yeah. Wasaaaassaaaaay superior. Nadal has an excellent forehand and a serve that goes on and off. Whenever the guy serves really well, it’s news. You are a fan and I understand, but do not try to run away from facts about his limited game. He makes up for his limited game with willpower. It’s actually amazing that with that limited game he has 4 US Opens.

The discussion started between Nadalfan and me, as I told you earlier, and you even missed that part as well. Then Mr Tell it like it is comes in the middle of the discussion with his pent up anger and started ranting. Instead you should tell him to go back and look at where the discussion started and how it started.

Federer djokoivic have won more on hard courts than nadal but not inferior to them at all he's level on hard courts been much highter than Federer, grass only has one big event not much of a surface season of course nadal better overall player than Federer 2010s have showed that 13-5 in grand slams titles. also Djokovic is a much better hard court player than Federer in fact clay as well Federer only than Djokovic on grass, nadal already porved he's greater than Federer by being on top of tennis for much longer 2008-19 Federer just 6 years 2004-09] finally of course nadal a little greater than Djokovic for now 19-16 slams.:yesyes:

I don't like brokenshoelace but he's right you don't understand the game you talking about extra credit so much all that matters is grand slam titles, year end number no.1s masters ect….. then nadal gets the most majors he will clearly the greatest player of all time regardless of your trash surface talk the only one with a limited game is Federer with one clay court major while nadal was multiple wins on all surfaces even winning all in a single season which no male player has ever done before nadal.

Hey, Mr you can't read properly. I literally claimed in the post you quoted that Djokovic is MUCH better than Nadal on hard courts. However, that didn't stop Nadal from beating him 2 out of the 3 times they played at the US Open. That's a fact. There is nothing subjective about it. Nadal beat him. Period. You can cry about it, but it wont' change anything. Therefore the idea that Djokovic would have crushed him if they had played is based on nothing. So if your argument is that Novak is much superior on hards therefore he would have crushed him easily at the US Open, I ask you, why has that never happened (even in the one time Novak did win)?

It’s actually amazing that with that limited game he has 4 US Opens.

Let's see about Nadal's limited game:

- At worst, the second best forehand on tour (and definitely the most consistent).

- Easily a top 10 backhand, probably top 5.

- At worst, the second best slice on tour.

- Easily one of the best drop shots.

- By FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR the best shot selection.

- Great touch, and easily one of the best volleyers on tour at this point (and I've always said his volleys are overrated but this year he's really picked it up).

- At worst the second best mover on tour.

- At worst the second best defense on tour.

- The best defensive lobs on tour.

- Arguably the best offensive lobs on tour with the exception of Murray who's barely active.

- The best passing shots on tour.

- Probably the best overhead on tour next to Federer, and the second best backhand overhead (behind Federer).

- Best tactician on tour.

- Second best variety by far. Tactical adjustments are not made abstractly. You need the game to be able to pull it off. Nadal's ability to play aggressively off both wings, revert to defense mode, break the rhythm with his slice, etc... wouldn't never work if he truly had a limited game.

So, please, explain to me, with all your infinite knowledge, what about any of the above implies that his game is limited? I'd love to actually hear you, for once, talk about technical aspects of tennis.

It's a tennis forum. If you intend for a discussion to stay between two people, send a private message or an email. Jesus, that is literally the first time I ever hear anyone around here chastise someone for "coming in the middle of the discussion." THAT'S THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT OF A TENNIS FORUM.

Let me help you out:

" FORUM:
1.
a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged."

So, what is the problem exactly? You asked if Nadal needs luck to win outside of Roland Garros and I answered with facts. That somehow seems to have upset you because...the question was not directed at me? Amazing.

Honestly wondering: How can you claim something is a fluke before it happens? Shouldn't you wait to see how it unfold first?

I mean Nadal should have beaten Djokovic at Wimbledon in 2018. That's pretty obvious. Would it have made his win a fluke? I don't think he's winning Wimbledon again but the idea that he needs a "miracle" to win it when literally only two players are better than him on the surface is absolutely laughable.
