Rafa not happy about something. Probably complaining about the Umpire calling him out on the time issue. That's just a deflection. He's needs to get back to the business of trying to win this tennis match, otherwise Thiem will book some space in his head. I just get the impression here that Thiem utterly believes himself to be a physical match for Rafa. And nothing happening here contradicts that. He broke back with ease. Same pattern happening again in this set.

The hard topspin backhand into Rafa's forehand is THE PLAY. It seems so obvious now, watching both Thiem and Roger play Rafa. With Novak it always seemed to be the case that the things that Rafa did to win were ineffective against him. This set is huge. I don't see Rafa beating this version of Thiem from 2 sets down

CORRECTION: Any hard top spin into Rafa's forehand. People starting to expose that shot as a flat track bully of a weapon for Rafa. All players should pay attention to this match imho

Wow Nadal could lose this in straight sets.
The austrian peasant looks in parts like a younger version of Nadal.

the flip side of course is that if Thiem loses this set it could be a breaker for him. He deserves it, but you gotta take it

that was a shocking drop shot from Rafa. It was like he was bailing out of the rally. Set point to Thiem
