ATP Launches Major Global Campaign....."This Is Tennis"
So Federer had surgery on his right knee in February and then an additional arthroscopic procedure on the same knee in May/June? Did I get that right...
Yes,the rehab for the additional procedure in May/June has not healed as he thought it would, though earlier he had confirmed he would be playing the AO.Seeing the AO looks like it will be held starting on February 8th,there is some chance he could still play.So Federer had surgery on his right knee in February and then an additional arthroscopic procedure on the same knee in May/June? I think it comes down to as you say. Even though the last Major he won was the AO, he'll be putting his eggs in the Wimbledon basket. Plus, then, Olympics and USO. It makes more sense.^^yes. looking at it i think also he does not fancy flying down to aussie and 2wks quaranteen as well as not being ready,
tho he did mention "if his career was to be over then..blah blah" at that swiss award thing he was at...so, yeah. drama.
anyway he really wants to be fit for grasscourt swing, olympics, and us open, so if you think of it that way it makes sense.
It was to be expected! California's in a real "state" (no pun intended)! Gavin's probably doing the best he can, but with so many people, total complience anywhere is pretty much impossible! They're drowning in so many ways! I love California and lived out there for over 10 years, but they've crippled themselves with unnecessary legislative noise in every election cycle, double dipping by city and state workers, insane property tax issues, and being overly needing to satisfy everyone, inflating the cost of the most simple of projects!Indian Wells in Californ-i-a has been "postponed."
That is utter rubbish,Melbourne had a second wave of COVID19 everyone was in lockdown and also you could not go out after a certain time.I live in Australia by the way,we are lucky we are having the AO at all Tennis Australia had to work hard with the Victorian Government to allow the AO to go on.,Melbourne has just come out of its second lockdown.I also just read this rubbish on Twitter, usually Novak fans are the ones to write this rubbish.,especially when it has anything to do with Federer mostly or Rafa.Yolita used to post on Tennis.Com she is a one eyed Novak fan and loves to put down Federer at any chance, she is always on Twitter just one example of being a 'rabid fan'.To people wondering why the Australian Open starts on Feb 8th when everything they re doing now could be done earlier
The reason is of course Roger Federer who was again in close consultation with Tiley on what his suitable date for the event.
"He said to us that February 8 was a more suitable date for him in terms of preparing for the Australian Open," Tiley added. "But a lot will depend on how he responds to his surgery in the next two to three weeks."

As usual, no media outlet is covering the blatant corruption here. This is the reason why I never trust anything that Ben, Clarey and all wrote about the PTPA. They are in the pockets of the administrators and will only provide a biased view of the tennis world.
And another reason PTPA is required, Roger Federer is currently on the player's council negotiating for the players against the tournaments. Why will he side for the players when the tournaments listen to everything he wants. They know that by supporting him and Nadal, they will always get the favorable position at the expense of the vast majority of tennis players
I literally have a quote from an article where Tiley just mentioned this "He said to us that February 8 was a more suitable date for him in terms of preparing for the Australian Open"That is utter rubbish,Melbourne had a second wave of COVID19 everyone was in lockdown and also you could not go out after a certain time.I live in Australia by the way,we are lucky we are having the AO at all Tennis Australia had to work hard with the Victorian Government to allow the AO to go on.,Melbourne has just come out of its second lockdown.I also just read this rubbish on Twitter, usually Novak fans are the ones to write this rubbish.,especially when it has anything to do with Federer mostly or Rafa.Yolita used to post on Tennis.Com she is a one eyed Novak fan and loves to put down Federer at any chance, she is always on Twitter just one example of being a 'rabid fan'.
Melbourne has just come out of a second lock down The AO was in Doubt Period. That Is Why The AO is being played in February full stop.Tennis Ausatralia had to get permission from the Victorian Government to allow it to go ahead after coming out of a second lockdown. The AO does not revolve around Federer Full Stop.It was not moved to February to give Federer a better chance of making the AO. regardless if Tiley and Federer had a conversation???.End of Conversation with you.I will converse with you when you are not so blinded of the Acutal Facts as why AO was moved.I am not a rabid fan again stop making false accusations against me.I gather from your previous conversations, you are not a fan of Federer/Nadal and like to have a dig at them? that is your choice.I literally have a quote from an article where Tiley just mentioned this "He said to us that February 8 was a more suitable date for him in terms of preparing for the Australian Open"
Why are you attacking and calling fans rabid when they have nothing to do with the above quote. You completely ignored the quote and just mentioned that Djokovic fans are rabid. It is a fact that no news journalist is covering the fact that Tiley was talking with Federer on the start date of the event
In my opinion, the fact that you did not debate this quote and instead attacked people shows you are no better than what you are accusing them fo...................If you had done your homework Federer had already said he would go to the AO,he had a set back and he was in doubt, just because Tiley said that would be a suitable date, that Does Not Mean The AO Revolves Around Federer Okay
I agree with Margaret that a top player on the tour having a conversation with a tournament director in these very complicated times, with tournaments moving, means really nothing. The fact that they disclose it openly to the press, and the fact that Federer is still unconfirmed for the AO further implies they didn't move the tournament so that Roger can participate. It just doesn't seem as nefarious as you claim. It seems very clear that Tennis Australia, Tiley and the government were working very closely to find a date that was safer, so they pushed it. That it helps Federer's chances of participating seems a pleasant side-benefit, if you ask me.I literally have a quote from an article where Tiley just mentioned this "He said to us that February 8 was a more suitable date for him in terms of preparing for the Australian Open"

I do agree with you since you do live in Australia and would know the situation much better than me for sure. There was a lot of pressure and we should be happy that the event is taking place which is a huge thingMelbourne has just come out of a second lock down The AO was in Doubt Period. That Is Why The AO is being played in February full stop.Tennis Ausatralia had to get permission from the Victorian Government to allow it to go ahead after coming out of a second lockdown. BTW I will find the actual response of what Novak fans said as to why the AO was moved and post it here.
Craig Tiley has also posted on twitter that he expects all the top players to attend the AO.I gather that includes Federer. Also all players will be limited to how many people can travel with them.
From what I read Federer is practicing in Dubai at present.
This is where you're reading in: Tiley didn't say he asked Roger his preference. He merely said that Roger mentioned that it would be better for him. And they didn't occult the fact that they'd talked about it. Do you really believe that the AO moved it's schedule for a "maybe" from Roger, when, as Margaret has explained to you, from on the ground, and she has sources close to Tiley, that it's more about pandemic concerns? I think you are looking for conspiracies where they don't exist.I do agree with you since you do live in Australia and would know the situation much better than me for sure. There was a lot of pressure and we should be happy that the event is taking place which is a huge thing
Lets see, the AO might not have moved because of Federer but still having a quote like that doesn't seem fair to me at all. There are 100s of players interested in the Australian Open and Tiley talking with Federer asking his preference doesnt seem correct.
