London's 02 Arena is to stage the 2022 edition of the Laver Cup, September 23-25.
The ATP Cup came after the Laver Cup, for what it's worth. I still find the LC a bit of a glorified exhibition, but it's fun. The real difference is between ATP Cup and Davis Cup. That's the arm-wrestle, IMO.I haven't been sucked in yet! It was enough creating The ATP Cup; we don't need another "glorified exhibition" team event to be hosted by an aging Roger Federer into the next couple decades even if it supposedly honors Rod Laver! IMO this is just another way to keep his name out there as Nadal and Djokovic obliterate records Fed used to hold! The sport's saturated enough! Roger can make this event become something traditional, but for me it's totally superfluous!
French Tennis Federation confirms that the Rolex Paris Masters at the Accor Arena scheduled for October 31 to 8th November will be going ahead.
Since the season so shortened, I'd guess Roger's the only top player who'll skip the event! Nadal more desperate for points, but that fast court will do him no favors; esp. at the end of season though shortened! History says Rafa packs it in after the USO for the most part with only a handful of meaningful matches won in the Fall with no YEC Champs.! He's really pushing himself in RG, though his fave major event, it's still Oct., cold, windy, with players testing him who normally wouldn't at this stage of the tourney! He's not dropping sets, but those games and sets have gone on and on and on!
Rafa has not played much tennis, saying that I will be suprised if he plays Paris Masters. To me Rafa has adjusted well to the conditions in Paris,he can also play well in windy conditions,it was windy yesterday in his match against Sinner..the wind does swirl around in Chatrier.

Margaret, I'm good either way as Rafa knows his state of health is paramount. However, I'd be surprised if he doesn't play Bercy Paris.
I've mentioned before that as successful as his clay court season was, IMO it would be better to pare it down what with age/accumulated injuries. Usually he would play Monte Carlo/Barcelona/Madrid/Rome all before Rolan Garos and then on to grass / Wimbledon , add at least 1 HC Master (Canada) prior to the USO then on to the Asian HC swing (2 tourneys) and finishing with the YE ATP champs in London so Rafa's body would be plumb wore out at season end.
He's had a five month break, played a total of 3 HC and now 2 clay tournaments for the entire year, IF he plans to play in the YE champs he's going to need at least one HC tournament for prep, which would be Paris. A total of 8 tournaments for 2020 and then an early trip to OZ fore the AO.
It will be interesting to see how things shake out eventually with the ATP Player Council and the new union. I think Murray is a particularly good choice, though. The ATP has announced today that four new players have been elected to the ATP Player Council.
Felix Auger-Aliassime,Jeremy Chardy,John Millman and Andy Murray were elected by the existing members of the ATP Player Council to fill the roles vacated following the resignations of Novak Djokovic,Vasek Pospisil,John Isner and Sam Querrey prior to the US Open.
They will begin their roles with immediate effect.Kevin Anderson, formerly the ATP Player Council's Vice President.will serve as President.

I have heard that women have joined, but there has basically been radio silence on the new union since they made their basic statement. Watch this space, I guess. But I do agree that Murray has stood on his principals as to women in the game.Didn't Murray say at first he did not want to join the new players union because they did not include woman ? even though I read that Pospisil said later women would be welcomed.Still no more news regarding women joining? glad that Murray stood by his principal.
