Must not have protected themselves like Wimbledon who plunked down millions on an insurance policy for just this situation! :astonished-face:
Only Wimbledon had that insurance.

Something tells me that these 2 slams might actually happen. From what I understand organisers will fight to even get some fans to attend too. Many players started training again and participate in some exhibitions, maybe they know more than us. Fingers crossed for both USO and RG.

It will be a true honour to see Nadal win #20 and #21 this year. It couldn’t have happened to a more deserving or nicer guy.

I guess no one ever told you it's bad luck to count your chickens, eh? Don't put the whammy.

As a Nadal fan I have counted my chickens countless times successfully! :bye:

I wouldn't say that's cynical, just practical. It would hurt them a lot. Wertheim says that without the USO, the USTA will lose important revenue that pays for things like training juniors. And someone here has mentioned that the French have a renovation to pay for.

No, I realize the practical aspect and I'm for it, like you mentioned junior program funding, etc. The cynical refers to IIRC both Majors through spokepersons earlier having stated if that if they couldn't have live audiences they wouldn't stage the events.

Well, work in progress, right? A lot of sports are trying to figure out how to come back. The more they figure out how to make it work, the more it becomes possible. This made me laugh, for all-too-true:

If we transfer these names from the horse racing to tennis then Nadal would be the vaccine and Djokovic the toilet paper. :bye:

I got ya. But, in fairness, this dealing with a pandemic has been a moving target and an evolution of understanding what it was really going to take to come back. I saw that Fed and Kvitova didn't like the idea of playing to no spectators. TC commented, and no slag on Roger or Petra, but Roddick said, "Think of the players ranked in the 90s," and Courier said that there is a whole tennis ecosphere that is supported and needs to work. I'm sure they're thinking of ways to have a reasonable amount of socially-distanced fans, and how to get them in/out, around and about the grounds safely. With baseball and soccer trying to start back up, it may depend on who successful that is/isn't. WIP.

I had no idea Djoke is such a quack. He seems intelligent during interviews. Since he has revealed himself to be an anti-vaxxer, I’m hoping he retires immediately so that he has less of a platform to spread his crazy notions.

I wouldn't touch a vaccine either. People who take the flu vaccine often get very sick. What's the point in that?! Who the hell wants the potential to get sick when you may never even get the CCP virus in the first place.

People who get flu shots do NOT often get very sick. Where did you read that? Here's some actual information on the flu vaccine from the US CDC. I get a flu shot every year for at least the past 20 and it has never made me even vaguely sick. However, the actual flu can be dangerous or deadly.

When I said people get sick often it clearly does not mean all people. Anyone who wants to get a vaccine for anything they feel is necessary is free to do so but apparently cos Djokovic is anti vaccine he should retire. The stupidity of some people is unbelievable.

Well, even I said THAT was stupid. But it simply isn't true that even 'many' people get sick from the vaccine. And, as a young, healthy person, it's not about you, as I'm sure you know. It's to protect the very young, the very old and the immuno-compromised. Don't be such a wuss. Get your flu shot, man! :)

Never have and never will. Well, maybe when I'm over 60. Happy that you've never had any ill effects from the flu vaccine but plenty of people I know have got sick after getting it. Maybe they have shit immune systems. Who knows.

I guess you didn't read what I posted. For those who do feel "flu-ish" after a flu shot, it's the immune system reacting to the dead virus in the shot, but it's not flu. But you are being very selfish, because you admit you might get it after you're 60, just to protect yourself (is the implication.) I was just talking to a friend about what you posted...well, basically the anti-vaxxer thing...but your notion that lots of people get sick from the virus. He is nearly 70 and HIV+ and said how ridiculous that is. He's been getting vaccinated for years and has never had a reaction...and he DOES have a shit immune system. Look, I don't want to come off as lecturing you, and you know I love you, but so what if you feel icky for a couple of days? You are otherwise very likely to be immune from the flu (not guaranteed,) meaning that you can't give it to people that could well die from it. Including your small child. I can only recommend that you do a little more reading and consider the well-being of the community over your own comfort and fears.

And Osaka has earned more than anyone else which means the money is in Japan and Federer knew about it when he changed to Uniqlo lol

I have been eating peanuts for 25 years and never got sick, very smart.....again it’s all about you isn’t it?
