Martic looks done, she is receiving medical and looking kind of tired. It will be a huge surprise if she can turn this one around. Such a pity.

Not taking anything away from Barty's run as #1, but truth be told she hasn't played anybody really good for awhile.

Riske is the first woman to book her spot in the last 8. Quickly followed by Svito and Zhang.

Great to see Riske pull off the upset. If for no other reason than to be right about Barty not being able to win this tournament. Brutal quarter up here. I always said I didn't know who would come out alive. I didn't see Riske making her first quarter for sure though.

It's a tough ask to beat Serena in your first slam quarterfinal. Serena gaining steam now. But of course today was mostly about the fact that she's dominated CSN her entire career. We'll see if Riske can at least challenge Serena more than CSN. I can't see her winning it. But if she could win it, this point in Serena's career, at 37, struggling with injuries all year, has barely played, now would be the time where Riske could beat her. And she's playing the upset queen well. Still. Very uphill task for a player of Riske's caliber to beat Serena.

Good to hear Serena say that she knows Riske is great on the grass and she just beat the number 1 player in the world who just won a grass court player. And that the last time she played an American she lost (Kenin at RG). So she'll be ready. She's not gonna underestimate Riske. Riske has been at this a long time. Is no surprise to Serena.

Gauff and Halep just walked on court. I hope this is a good one. I’m pulling for the upset.

Coco immediately drops serve. It's going to be a long day at the office (or a short one if Halep zones her)
