Neither of them have shown anything. Maybe 2020 the next gen becomes relevant but who knows. We've been saying it for years.
The time will come no doubt about it, it has come in parts already, looking at smaller events, my point is , everybody is talking about improvement of the Greek, the fake German, the Austrian and others, but it’s all about aging of the BIG 3. they will never reach the peak level of them, have to wait until they come down to them. Maestro is almost there. The 3 clearly concentrate their energy on GS , here the second tier need more patience.

The year is 2031. Nadal and Federer are playing in the quarter finals of the FO. There will be 100 theories about why this time might be different from a mental stand point as Fed is playing with far less pressure, and how Nadal was there for the taking in that 2011 final.

Those theories quickly lose momentum as Nadal shares an embrace with Roger at the net, before moving on the semi finals where he takes on a rejuvenated Grigor Dimitrov, whom he refers to as "the future of tennis."

I wonder who lifted the rock so you could crawl back out from underneath? It shows how little you know about tennis to think that topspin is a "plague" and that your man Rog doesn't use it...including off-clay. Quick reminder about the USO 2017 draw: Rafa and Roger were in the top half, which was the stacked one. The bottom half was the land of opportunity, even before Murray withdrew, but even more so after. The fact that neither Cilic nor Zverev could come through is on them. And Rafa would have played Roger, but Fed missed the date. Rafa did, however, beat the guy that beat Roger, del Potro, and in straights.

You're really going to compare dull's reliance on the bounce of the ball to Fed? Fed uses topspin but he could win slams without it. The same can't be said for Wafa unfortunately.
