And Nadal was vulnerable today - to Djokovic, not to muscleman.

and if he would've beaten Djokovic in 3 or 4, you would be saying 'Nadal was vulnerable, to Thiem' LOL

I know you too well mr. Nadal HATER!

btw Cali, did you see how Nadal overpowered Thiem? Thiem overpowers Djoker in semis (52 winners vs 39) and in finals? Nadal overpowered Thiem (38 winners vs 31). Rafa is just one amazing phenomenon on clay, best defense and best offense, with ability to OVERPOWER the biggest hitters on tour, Thiem and Wawrinka (who also overpower Djoker). Nadal is BEAST, enjoy him cali, he's unique... stop hating so much.

Maybe it will turn out like that but so far I don't think it will. For one thing, Roddick had an animal of a serve and there was no way he'd dropped serve like Thiem did today, tired or not. Even on one leg he could ace most guys on tour. No point having a great ground game when you can't hold serve and he stands way too far back to return.
Front ..True he had a big serve but it's not even in the top ten of all time..I have Sampras, Roger, Dr Ivo and Isner"s serve as better..I would put Goran and Safin serves as being more effective..Roger, Novak or Murray had no issues returning that serve..Front , you are only as good as your 2nd serve

Overpowered someone who played four days in a row. I told you before the match. Thiem won't be able to sustain his level due to his schedule.

Yes, Del Potro is a big server that's why I said he played no one good till the 1/4 final which is where he played Del Potro.

Nick Kyrgios not a big server? You must be kidding. He served either 36 or 37 aces off the top of my head that day. Dustin Brown also has a good serve. He ended the match with an ace. Rosol is a big server too. You forgot him. Djokovic and Federer are 2 of the best servers on tour. It's not all about speed and aces but placement.
Ok so maybe Nick Kyrgios is big server but not Djokovic or Federer, they are just the best at defend it which is different, also Rosol is a big server that's why I did not say him because I was talking about the baseline players who have beaten Nadal at Wimbledon. But whatever your getting me off topic, only Djokovic is beating Nadal at Wimbledon this year not forgot the last time Nadal beat Federer at Wimbledon.

Absolutely, AP. A rare time I'm in agreement although it's ages since I watched Safin so I can't recall if his serve was better than Roddick's but mostly what I'm saying is Thiem's inability to hold serve after breaking and winning a set was so predictable and Roddick could usually back up both with his serve.

Not with a beef up serve, shorten the points plus the CC BH on the short balls..
Someone pointed out the courts in London are significantly slower, so I have to correct myself, only Novak’s and maestros a game could beat bull.

Sorry to disappoint you again but just look at this.

Djokovic tops Nadal in the return game overall and in the baseline game outside of Paris . He is the better server but only by a slight margin.

Thanks MikeOne ^ for the reply about Roger likely thinking it was a good event for him. That windy day affected both, surely, but the kind of game Federer plays would seem a lot more trying in that kind of wind—to say nothing of the formidable one across from the net. A very tall order for anyone who has ever played the game if the match is on that court; it is damn near impossible.

Roddicks serve is definitely better than Roger's. I think his hold % was just as good despite a much inferior all around game.

Brother, if you leave the very dark teaching of the Sith Lord and come under my apprenticeship .I will teach you so much about the game of tennis, you may be one day admired and acknowledged as the poor man's version of Lord Kieran.

what a cowardly mentality and from a sore loser, Mr. Nadal hater. Federer was 5-0 vs Nadal after he changed his game, tactics and even racquet. He has great experiences at Roland so he was excited to play. The result was not disappointing, he made semis and lost to Nadal is hurricane conditions. I think he is happy with his 2 weeks here, overall. sore loser fans...

Cali is right on this. Roger at his age should be prioritizing Wimbledon, not wasting time on a surface where he has no prayer to do well on. Who cares about a semifinal result, the guy is worth hundreds of millions so he doesn't need the money. Instead he wasted a lot of energy and embarrassed himself as soon as he faced a contender on clay.

0 to do with his schedule, it was Nadal's brutal rallies and intensity... he was mentally down, not physically.... Nadal does that to you. Remember when Nadal crushed Tsitsipas at AO and made Tsitsi look physically and mentally wasted? Tsitsi wasn't tired... Nadal got to him...

Thiem was 100% fine physically, he even said he was fresher than last year... it was Nadal's style of defense/offsense that got to Thiem, mentally. The brutality of those long rallies in first set, Thiem having to hit 2-3 extra shots and at the same time Nadal using offense to move Thiem to every corner of the court... It is a challenge, for even a Thiem with 4 days of rest.

Lol I looked at your dumb server list Federer was 3rd all time, but where was Djokovic, so low down the list I could not find him

I am not saying Thiem would have won otherwise. Surely eating Breadstick in the last two sets clearly indicate he was running out of fuel.
Come on, Thiem is not that bad.
