I still think it defies physics to think that a heavier object would bounce higher than a lighter one.
The point here is more about how the ball deforms (how much energy is lost when it deforms and goes back to shape) than the actual weight. It could -- and it probably is -- a coincidence that this particular heavier ball bounces more/less than the others. All combinations could occur depending on how the ball is made.
All things equal, I would expect a heavier ball to bounce slightly more than a lighter one -- I expect the grass surface to absorb a smaller fraction of the impact energy in this case, but the difference would be really, really minor, probably impossible to grasp on naked eye.
