I really don’t understand why PCB tried to claim a replay given that he had no claim whatsoever over the call affecting the point. shows his understanding of fair play I guess.

It flicked over to show him leaving the court... looked like he was seriously pissed off.

Seems Med has refined his strategy away from outright pace on his shots to making sure they have depth. Probably the smart thing to do. But he should also try not giving Novak so many angles to play with, some straight down the centre and pace variation might help his cause

Moves well for a big man.

yes agreed. My first thought watching him here is that he looks at least as good as Cilic. But I think he has more of the fight gene. That's not to say he's more of a fighter than Cilic is now, but a lot of that was learning for him

He wanted to replay a point he lost. At first I thought he wanted to protest replaying a point out of gamesmanship, but then I realised what kind of character he is. Anyways he’s out.

Just watched since start of this set and Medvedev looks about 4-5 times better than I've ever seen him play.

Novak needs to keep it up. I doubt Medvedev will last.

his net play could use some work, but that's not exactly new in the modern game

What defence!!

What’s with Medvedev serving from the tram line?

This is the part of the game where Novak is especially good. He breaks your should and for a while you lose fast. By the time you recover your composure it's too late

I like Djokovic’s wry smile when he is playing badly or being outplayed.

Here's that PCB Call... he was up 8-5 in the Super Tiebreak... lost 5 on the spin as Kei took the match.

Watched that live, it was unfortunate, but actually the call "out" did not affect play. It was too late to affect Nishikori and beyond any reasonable doubt it did not affected PCB. A difficult call to make but the umpire did right. It would be way worst to make the point to be replayed as this way Nishikori would be definitely robbed. When I saw PCB arguing like crazy I knew he had dig himself a huge hole. If the call had interfered in play it would be a lucky break for him, it wasn't.

I agree... I think the ump made the right call.
