Good level by Novak. Medvedev is quite the retriever btw.

PCB pulling some Ferrers by grunting into the hit of Kei. 5-5 final set.

Kei eeks it out: 10-8 in the super tiebreaker.

PCB getting some real karma and boos from the crowd, shouting back at the crowd for the boos.

I really like Medvedev. We should be talking about him more seriously. He's got a bit of fight in him, and I don't see many glaring errors in his game

What was the controversy?

Somewhere in the supertiebreak PCB hits a passing shot that clips the net for a sitter for Kei. Kei hits the obvious winner, PCB is nowhere near the ball. At the same time the linesperson calls the ball out of PCB (the one that clipped the net). Stupid really, cause Kei won the point. Nonetheless PCB challenges and indeed the ball is in. The ump then still gives the point to Kei as it was called at the moment Kei won the point. PCB unravels and loses 5 points in a row or something. Refuses to shake the refs hand, gets booed, starts yelling at the crowd while angrily walking off the court. Drama!

Seems Med has refined his strategy away from outright pace on his shots to making sure they have depth. Probably the smart thing to do. But he should also try not giving Novak so many angles to play with, some straight down the centre and pace variation might help his cause

I really don’t understand why PCB tried to claim a replay given that he had no claim whatsoever over the call affecting the point. shows his understanding of fair play I guess.

Novak needs to stay patient and do a Murray on Medvedev.
