I hope he never plays RG again. Even at an awful level he is a threat at Wimbledon but coming in rested and healthy certainly would help his chances.
I kind of agree with this. Does he need to do a goodbye lap at RG? Esp. at the risk of his Wimbledon? As you pointed out, he's #6 in the world, ffs, and will be in the top listed of players to win W. He's in the game to win it. If he retires w/o ever playing RG again, so be it. He can show up and they can do him a nice video after.

I mentioned #6 to show just how awful he's been. I'm hoping that serves as a "sky is falling" moment for him, an embarrassment that can motivate him. And with how bad he's been playing it's all the more reason not to waste energy on clay.

He isn't gonna play the clay season..he isn't that foolish..he knows his best chance now is to be fresh for SW19 ..there are too many players including the likes of Thiem and Sasha Z who will run Roger's dick into the dirt on clay..I doubt if Rafa plays Madrid or Rome..leave it to the previous mentioned youngters..
My goodness, I haven’t seen you around for long time but then I read the comment of another poster responding to you
Welcome!!! :good::yahoo:

Milos starts poorly being broken. However, Sasha starts even poorer, being broken twice in a row.
Sasha throws his racquet after only 5 games.

Really sharp from Milos, really poor from Alexander. He'll have to look for the reset in the 2nd.

Milos feeds a baguette to Sasha, who was broken on all his service games.

Maybe I'm reading too much in here, but @britbox thinks there's a bit of bile between Zverev and Tsitsipas. Extra pressure here on Zverev, now that the young Greek is through, and getting all of the attention? Or is he just a folder at Majors, and Raonic is too good?

What's wrong with Zverev? He gets broken in the first game of the 2nd set.

Raonic is no pushover when he's fit. He's a tough out... but these are the types of matches Sascha really needs to step to if he's going to the next level.

Milos plays well, clearly. Think what he did before, defeated Kyrgios and Wawrinka . He had to play well from R1.

He had a brutal draw; esp. going up against Kyrgios being the hometown fave with so much talent! The Stan match was a masterpiece since it was really up to him! He made a few unforced errors at inopportune times and Milos took advantage of it! :whistle: :yesyes: :p :rolleyes:

I don't mean to denigrate him. I'm not a fan of his game, though I am an admirer of his work ethic and ambition. But, Tbh, I see him as a placeholder in the middle grounds of top 10 tennis. I have more hopes for Zverev. He realistically needs to win this match, but he surely needs to make a good showing of it. Neither looks likely, so far.
