She didn't say anything wrong, though you said she did, in your post above. It is correct that Nadal had ankle surgery, which is what she said. It is also true that he had a knee injury, so he took the down time to fix the ankle problem. You should really try to keep up, if you're going to so condescending.

The Nadal camp said it wasn't affecting his movement at all and they just needed the off season time to do the minor surgery because there was no other time all year due to constant play. There's nothing condescending about pointing out the reality that it wasn't an injury and wasn't affecting his movement. That was down to him getting run ragged by the likes of Thiem and Cilic and others due to the inability to finish points quicker and that's why they've been tinkering his serve to try and win more free points and working on first strike tennis to end points quicker 'cos his team can see it's an issue. He's played way too many unnecessarily long matches by grinding too much and not going for winners enough.

If you're going to quote my post, then you should notice that I did say that the h2h is poor, and that Tsitispas is the tougher opponent. You're arguing with other people, not me.

I realize you said Tsitsipas was the tougher opponent. Berdych btw was a helluva lot better at the AO 2017 than he is right now. Federer just played insane that day against him.

Seems the odds makers didn't watch Djokovic's match last night.

They probably did. Even though Novak got agitated and lost a set by continuously losing five games in a row. He came back and delivered a bagel to close out the match in the fourth set. It only showed that Novak has several gears and was playing at a very low gear in the first three sets.

It's nice for you to think so, but it's clear that Berdy was losing ground at the point. I saw it coming, and I wasn't wrong. Just admit that. It's very rich of you to call him a "washed up has-been" on the one hand, talk about his long issues with injury and health (which weren't all back, btw,) and still claim he was top of his game at that particular point in time, just before he wasn't. I'm sorry...he wasn't as tough an opponent at that moment as he looked on paper.

Maybe you didn't watch that match, but Shapo was a mess. All Novak had to do was keep his head down, his powder dry, and get out in three. But his head exploded, for no reason. This is a Djokovic weakness. I'm just saying he showed one.

He was actually good in 2017 and played Roger very tough at Miami also. Btw going to back to this post and not bothering to quote it again except like this...

^ Actually she edited her post from ankle injury to ankle surgery when I pointed out it wasn't an injury.

I watched in full the first three sets. Then, I went to bed. I know Shapo played poorly. Novak did not quite play well in the first three sets and despite that he won the first two easily. He lost the third one because he allowed the circumstances (sun, lights, code violation etc) affect him. While I did not watch the last set, I am assumed that Novak upped his game considerably as he fed a Bagel to Shapo.

Don't assume that. He won by doing nothing different. Shapo was a mess in that match. He simply lost a set he shouldn't have.

I can’t believe the Australian is adding on court coaching. The lack of coaching is one of the great things about tennis. It makes problem solving so important.

Is that true? That would be a shame.

Tiafoe playing really well today. And playing consistently well. Not streaky as he's been in the past. I do hate to see Dimitrov go out early-ish again. But at this point we know his ceiling is never gonna be too high. If Tiafoe can keep it up and finish him off it'll be nice to see him make his first quarterfinal. He'll be the youngest American male slam quarterfinalist in quite a while right? Since like Roddick?

Haven't seen a moment of this match. Dimitrov has taken Rafa to 5 here, so it's not over, but I would love to see Frances get to the next level. And if Dimitrov can't move on, well, that's par for the course for his weak-ass.

Yeah. This is where Dimitrov has had the most success for sure. Currently has a quarter from last year (lost to Edmund) to defend. And it's not like Tiafoe has dominated the last two sets.

Tiafoe seems to have had the break in the 3rd, but gave it back. I wish they could have shown a bit of it instead of the hit-around with Rafa and Tomas.
