Duck was nadal first rd match not his second, that was M.Ebden who is higher ranked than evans.

I don't have the time to reply properly as I'm walking to the gym and it closes soon but you need do more research into why Evans is ranked low. He was banned for cocaine use and hadn't played in a year so of course his ranking is low.

Oh ok I did not know that, and yes I will reseach evans, just to see why You got such a hard on for him. Regardless he's never won a title or been as highly ranked as aussie alex

No evan sucks because because won no big titles, and his ranking is low, thats a fact that evan sucks not a opinion, and having a match point does not make you a good player. Also Alex minaur is in the top 30 in the world, so clearly hes a better player. even Matt.Ebden higher ranked, duck yea I give you that one. Plus M.ebden beat J.isner last year at AO, he has more big wins over top players

Please tell me which big titles De Manure and Ebden have won?

Just to set the record straight with your incorrect claim that Nadal had the toughest draw.

Nadal's opponents

Duckworth's highest ranking was 82
Ebden's highest ranking was 39
De Minaur's highest ranking was 29
Average ranking is 50

Djokovic's opponents

Krueger's highest ranking was a whopping 169. Amazing stuff.
Tsonga's highest ranking was 5 but he's had so many injuries he's more like top 50 at best these days and has just returned from yet another knee injury so the number 5 ranking years ago is null and void.
Shapovalov's highest ranking was 23.
Average ranking is 66

Federer's opponents

Istomin's highest ranking was 33
Fritz' highest ranking was 47
Evans' highest ranking was 41 on March 6th 2017 and he has banned for cocaine use out of competition in April 2017. His ranking would likely have gone up and up had he not been banned for 1 year till April 2018.
Average ranking is 40

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it 'cos Federer had the toughest draw as many of us correctly pointed out, not to mention Tsonga's best ranking of 5 is making Djokovic's average look way better but he's been nowhere close to top 5 for donkey's years.

Well on ranking your right I already known that anyway, and Alex won sydney title, but if you look at it in a non ranking way djokovic had the toughest because he had a masters champion tsonga plus A top 25 player, shapovalov, regeardless for of they ranking, form they are still better players then that federer played. Nadal draw is harder then federer because nadal opponents, currently in better form or higher ranked and I'm not talking about they past best ranking that does not matter.

Well you and other Nadal fans have already claimed incorrectly Nadal had the toughest draw when clearly that's utter bs. I give up. No, Nadal's opponents were not better. Count me out of the fan list for De Minaur, he's too weak and light and therefore packs no power in his shots. Basically all he has is great speed and defensive skills 'cos of his youth but he's nothing more than Murray with way less power and a weak serve. Murray's second serve is toss but at least he has a powerful first serve and great backhand. De Minaur is boring and just another pusher/retriever imo. His ranking just went up last 2 weeks 'cos he won a mickey mouse 250 but he's nothing special and the top guys will eat him alive unless he improves and puts on some weight.

Your post is contradicting itself 'cos you're saying Tsonga is tougher since he was a former masters champion but he's been crap for years now and just back from yet another knee injury. Shapo has been on a bad roll lately. Evans played a better match than all those guys hands down.

.[/QUOTE] that you talking about federer average ranking AO19 opponent is 102/ federer played 199 99,50 ranked players that puts average rank over 100, now nadal ranked players 29, 48, 237 only one player outside the top 50/ djokovic 230,177 27. As you can see nadal has 2/3 opponents inside the top 50 rostered. Anyway I give up posters can spin stats to suit them and your one of them guys?

Just give up on the rankings ffs. They mean NOTHING since Evans' ranking sucks as he was banned for a year. Likewise, Tsonga's ranking sucks 'cos of injury. Based on form though, Evans played a helluva lot better than Ebden, Duckworth or De Minaur regardless of their damn ranking.

^ Anyway, you Nadal fans can be happy as Federer has a VERY tough match against Tsitsipas next. Imo, he's the best of the next gen players by far and great to watch and Roger will need to play really well tomorrow. It'll be a match full of great shot making from both guys hopefully.

Front242 Yes I agree evans played a better match against federer, than the aussies played against nadal.

I wasn't trying to start wold world 3 but glad you agree. Evans is pretty damn good when he plays up his potential and I'm hoping he keeps it up now that he's back on tour and learnt his lesson after his unfortunate ban. I say unfortunate 'cos it's not like he was doping, He was just doing coke at home. Gasquet got away with it with his bs excuse about kissing a girl in a club but they seem to punish lesser players which is unfair.

Yeah it was very high level from both with Roger barely winning and that's why this match tomorrow will be damn hard 'cos who knows if Roger will play as well as that but he'll have to. I'm pretty sure Tsitsipas will play very well.

Its a night session and the balls suit federer, this will help him in the match, tsitsipas is a really good already so it could be 5 sets will see?

It was a very good match. Tsitsi exploited Roger's poor returns and forced him to tiebreakers. He was also running Roger ragged. Roger better be fit if that happens again tomorrow. Roger got away with clutch play in the tiebreaks.

Sissy returns won't cut it against Tsitsi .

Not sure the balls suit Federer tbh but he'll need to serve and return very well or it's game over.

And you Federer fans can be more happy as Nadal will have a very tough match against Berdych who is playing even better than Tsitsipas. The good news for us is that Rafa is not playing so badly like 2015 when he lost against Berdych so I hope will do much better

Wasn’t it allegedly in a club in Miami? Poor innocent Gasquet was trapped by evil Floridian party girls.

Right, of course. Upside is essentially the same as potential - it doesn't always actualize. De Minaur could have a better career, even if he is (I think) less talented. In the same sense that a Borna Coric might have a better career than Nick Kyrgios, although I would say Kyrgios has greater upside. Or think of how many Slamless players were more talented (higher upside) than some of the one-Slam wonders out there (e.g. Rios or Nalbandian vs Johansson or Gaudio).

Talented players : Vijay Armitraj, Guillermo Coria, Milaslov Mecir (sp), Henri Leconte, come to think of it, talented Frenchmen would fill a few chapters themselves.

Guy Forget, Sebastian Grosjean, Monfils, Gasquet, Tsonga...

Is it the wine in France?

Australians could've joined the party except most of them are "head cases!" OMG, WTF's wrong with all that talent "down under?" :banghead: :cuckoo:
