It means a lot to me that you're at least not on the anti-Mary Carillo train. So many are. I think she's smart and funny. I don't mind the goofy.

Oh yeah. Like I don't adore her. But she's mostly fantastic. At the very least she is to be appreciated. She's been completely dedicated to commentary. And specifically tennis commentary. She can be a bit goofy. And that naturally means some of the bits will work and some will not. But you take the good with the bad.

I watch Courier and McEnroe on the legends tour, McEnroe still usually beats him in recent years in the one set match format lol

Has an overall winning record too, but more lopsided in recent years I think

Yeah, some of those old timers more than hold their own. I remember Edberg beating Safin the year after Marat retired from the main tour in one of those Legends finals.

Coric finally showing some of his best tennis over the last two sets and starting the 4th set with 2 break points. I was particularly impressed with a fantastic slice backhand a moment ago. Krajinovic saved both break points with some solid play of his own though. But Coric tags back. Then gets the break on a Krajinovic backhand shank. Returning well. Hopefully he can keep this form going forward. I'm so leery to get my hopes up with him. Because, one, he could still lose this match from here. But he could completely go off and lose to Pouille in 2 days time. Maybe even Popyrin. And then he could beat Zverev or Raonic. Or he could get crushed by them (that actually feels less likely). He pretty much always challenges Zverev.

Coric basically hands Krajinovic a break back point though. Erased it with an ace though. Got the ad. Lost the ad. Double faulted. Erased the break point with a nice serve and volley. And Krajinovic clipped the net and Coric manages a hold.

Yep, Borna the Roulette Wheel.

Now I haven't watched it closely. But by what I can tell. Zverev broke Bolt. Bolt broke back for 3-3. Then Zverev broke back again. Held. And broke again for the set. Held to open the fourth. 4 games on the run. Bolt gets a hold to stay level in the second though. Still. Being broken 3 times in the first set does not bode well. Can't hang with Zverev consistently enough to win.

Coric finding all the lines right now. Frustrating Krajinovic to no end. He's found the line going cross court on his forehand at least twice that I've seen in the last 10 minutes.

Krajinovic trying to desperately to get this last chance break to survive. And he gets it. 5-3 Coric.

Coric breaks right back though! And he's got his first AO fourth round. Second straight slam 4th round. And is the favorite to make the quarters. Which will be his first! Hope he can do it.

So I'm definitely looking forward to this 4th round. Djokovic/Medvedev. Nadal/Berdych. Berdych has looked really good. And though he has never had the success against Rafa that he's had against Fed, and Rafa has looked great, Berdych should feel fresh and could certainly push Rafa. Federer/Tsitsipas. Zverev/Raonic. Tiafoe/Dimitrov. Nishikori should do well against Carreno Busta. Who, is playing well and can challenge Nishikori. But Nishi is the better player. Cilic/Bautista Agut could actually be really good! And then I'm just glad to have Coric in the 4th round. Pouill or Popyrin doesn't really matter. He can probably beat or lose to both. So should be a good match. Probably not a bad match up in the bunch. I'm sure we'll see a drubbing somewhere. Either Medvedev won't be up to snuff against Djokovic or Tsitsipas won't be able to hand Fed. I could certainly be wrong and Nadal could drub Berdych as he has a number of times. Bautista Agut has only beaten Cilic once in 5 tries. But only one of the matches looks like it was all Cilic.

It's probably just that there are unknown factors in Medvedev and Tsitsipas against the top guys. And then Zverev can always implode, as can Coric. So a bunch of uncertainty for once. May all pan out like it normally does. Probably will. But should be entertaining along the way.

It’s nothing special really. You think he can beat Zverev if they meet?

He definitely can beat Zverev. He's given him a bunch of problems in the past.... but I'm hoping Sascha steps up to the plate and makes a statement.

Well he currently holds the 3-1 h2h advantage. So yes. I think these two have been playing each other going back years. So they know each other's game fairly well. I've already chosen Coric in the potential rivalry. Zverev has the bigger weapons and the height advantage. But he doesn't scare Coric one bit. Coric is actually really confident against him. He's had the better career so far. And may continue to. But I think at least in their matchup, Zverev isn't going to pull away in the near future.

Very intriguing match with young Alexi Popyrin versus Pouille, the 28 seed , who is expected to win. It looks like a five setter is on the cards.

With the three "Alex's" doing and fighting so well in the Aussie open, who needs egomaniacs like Tomic and Kyrigos.

That's it. Two sets all now, as the match clocks in over midnight and over 3 hours old.
