Hips tend to be degenerative injuries, meaning it is highly unlikely that he caused it by playing so much to get to #1 in 2016; at worst he merely sped up the pace.

I have since the end of 2016 when he pushed himself in those late tourneys to overtake Nole for #1! His hip was already in pain, now he's limping away! Was it worth it? IMO the same thing will happen to Nadal! That silly defensive style is conducive to this occurring; "ask Michael Chang!" I believe he needed hip replacements!

Except Andy and Rafa have different doctors who offer different "medical treatments." Rafa's has a "special regime" that should be able to prolong his career.
