Nick said he just has to put a lid on his behaviour. This is probably good for him and maybe we see some positive change.

Just a question:

Conspiracy theories aside, why is the ATP corrupt exactly? I mean, I'm sure they are on some levels, but what are we talking about precisely?

anyway nick k has scuttled back off to (straight outta) canberra..

that time of year when nick upholds his tradition of "shutting his season down"..its not actually official but is he really going to fly back to europe to play paris when he has not bothered before(?).

This one is a bit funny.

A chair umpire went cookoo on a challenger in Italy and started critisizing a player for not taking his opportunites and prolonging a match for "no reason". Umpire said to him that he is old and can't stand the heat and sitting there for 2 hours LOL. He then went further and talked to the ball girl, asked her about the heat and told her that she is sexy. The guy clearly crossed the line and will be fined.

Wow...that was bad! The conversation with the ball girl was completely creepy. This guy gets a fine, and the gold badge umpire who granted interviews without permission got fired. That just don't seem right to me.

Agree, they should just fire him. This doesn't get much attention, because it happened on a challenger.

That umpire was outrageous. Good for you for posting it. I'm not sure which was worse: his sleazy comments to the ball kid, or his basically telling Sousa that he was going to judge in his favor, just to get off the court. (I speak Spanish and Italian, so I understood everything that he said.) I don't know if the umpires are governed by the same body, so that may have something to do with the discrepancy. (It was mentioned that this Italian umpire was sanctioned by the ITF, and I'm not sure if it was ATP that fired the Argentine one.) Now that it has made the internet, though, I wonder if that Italian umpire won't get the ax.

It looks like Nadal officially pulls out of Shanghai Masters. Smart choice as he should enjoy his wedding and rest his body and mind for the 2020 season

Maybe, maybe not, but I think the larger pressure was for him to be around just before his wedding.

Shanghai draw is out. Fed has drawn Cilic (assuming Cilic wins his opener) for his 2nd round match. That is a tough first match to start after a decent break. Assuming, Fed wins that, his slated 3R opp is Goffin, QF opp is Sasha, SF opp is Thiem and F opp is Med/Perseus/Khachanov.

So are you assuming Djokovic will be upset or did he WD & I didn't hear about it? I'm missing his name in your scenario of the draw! :nono:
