I enjoyed listening to his honesty. It's very interesting to see the world of tennis from his perspective.
Same here. I just listened to the whole interview.

Kyrgios and Ivanisevic are really similar when it comes to talking. Completely honest both of them. Goran should be Nick's coach, that would make a craziest coach-player team that I can think of.

Would be interesting to know what he means by this dark place he mentioned? Maybe his inability to put more effort in day to day tennis life. But he really doesn't care. He even says that tennis doesn't make him happy. He looks homesick, mentioned his home place couple of times, how he really likes to be there compared to the tour.

He is right about how players are so focused nowadays with huge teams surrounding them and then you can magine Nick almost pulling players by the sleeve asking them to hang out tonight. I feel a bit sorry for him, he was born a decade or two too late. One thing is for sure, tour needs this kind of a guy.

the 2 atp250s coming up have alot of interest, young/old stars..tsonga is in the french one..faa/small colin, shapo also in action. plus that cedrick moutet bloke or whatever he is called. 19yrs old and top100 rank..good going these days.

zed is looking for a few matches to fill in the void of losing early in bigger tourneys and sir grigor qualified for main draw (late entry i presume).

For a guy who likes to use incomprehensible nicknames, I'd have thought you'd at least have picked up "small colin" by now. The origin is only known to JLLB, as far as I can tell, but he's had it for some time.

Just to add to that Kyrgios podcast how he pooped on Novak's victory celebration That part was really hillarious.

I liked Novak's celebration more when he was ripping shirts occasionally. That was just raw and honest who he actually is. This heart sending thing is not him and we all know it.

Did anyone watch this interview in Rome with Novak, when the guy (who interviewed Kygrios a week ago) is grilling him about this whole ATP players council/Kermode thing? It's obvious that there is no love between the two.

Novak responded nicely and profesionally and explained all from his perspective. He handled it well and I think he is right.

You didn't provide a link, so I'll add this one. Embedded is a link to the video, on a twitter link. I watched it. I'm not sure I agree with your characterization of Rothenberg as "grilling him," nor that there's "no love lost between" them, if you mean Novak and Rothenberg. Novak was rather using him, (Ben Rothenberg also writes for the NYTimes,) pretty defensively, as a stand-in for all of the press. It is clear that Djokovic is not happy with the way he's been portrayed in the press over the recent ouster of Kermode, but he shied away from offering more clarity about the process and what is going on with the Player's Council. Perhaps he is sworn to secrecy, and his hands are tied in some way. Surely, it's true what he says that he's only one vote, but Rothenberg wasn't wrong to press Novak, as the President of the PC, to provide some clarity as to what is going on. He's a journalist, and a respected one. I thought Novak's responses were mostly circular and just about how the press has maligned him, implying that some of the stories were wrong, but shedding no light as to which ones. It's clear it's a sore point for him. To his credit, when the handlers tried to move the presser along to less controversial topics, Novak said he wanted to respond. But he really used to the time to complain about his treatment by the press and not to say anything helpful about what was going on in the search to replace Gimelstob or Kermode.

It feels like Novak just had enough of the whole story and wanted to shut the door. I know the journalist wanted him to give more answers, but Novak said he can't speak much about it. Media portrayed Novak wrongly in the first place as he is some kind of a dictator in that council. That is in my opionion why he went so defensive in the interview.

I don't think mediat thought Novak was a dictator. But, media thought he spearheaded the exit of Kermode by influencing other members of the players council. Further media thinks it was a bad move. That is not the same as accusing Novak of being a dictator though.

French Tennis Federation President Bernard Giudicelli said the roof will be in place over Chatrier next year,Roland Garos won't play official night sessions under lights until 2021 so that the tournament can fully prepared for night play.

"The night sessions in 2021 impose an organization, which requires methodical and deep work,so that's why we scheduled them in 2021 and not 2020," Giudicelli said.

Starting in 2021.Roland Garos will host one night session on Court Philippe Chatrier with lights eventually installed on all courts. There will be no night play after 11pm Paris time.

"Three matches during the day on Philippe Chatrier and one match in the night session,Giudicelli said of the schedule."
So avoid 'late nighttime session'.We won't play between 11pm and 2am in the morning".

At this point, the tournament does not plan to close the roof over Chatrier in event of extreme wind.

"I remind that the tournament is an outdoor tournament played outdoors," tournament director Guy Forget said."And a match that will start indoor will finish indoor except if it restarts the day after, unlike what the British did between Nadal and Djokovic we will finish the match in outdoors the day afterwards."

Not sure if this belongs here, but there was a good interview done with Boris Becker a few weeks ago. There are clips on yt if someone doesn't like the length of this.

Here is the one about competition:

Boris also seem to be leaning towards a Kyrgios side when it comes to rivalries in the era of big3, he wants to see more spice between the players, it is all too polite nowadays. But as interviewer said it has to be real like in era of John and Boris. Maybe the next gen guys can light it up a bit.

Absolutely, the shirt ripping after the AO final 12 was formidable. From the bottom of his slavic heart. This new celebration is bullshit.
Kyrgios is funny and entertaining but a poor idiot.

I heard commentator saying the same the other day. Hope he can teach Marin a few small tricks. I liked watching a spotted south african. Always felt he was a top 10 slayer when I watched him as a kid.

Which Feliciano denied in his presser today, of course. And he and Marc are cooperating with the integrity commission. It came out in an investigation into football match fixing. Something in a phone call mentioning their tennis match. Your article does mention that Feli had a foot injury from his singles match v. Mannarino the day prior, which he retired from, so the loss in double seems plausible. Obviously, it has to be properly investigated, but it does beg the question as to if a player with $14mil+ in career winnings would fix a match.
