yeah, I don't know what is happening to him. He was looking like one of the most promising guys to break into the top 10 this season. Maybe a crazy russian syndrome, like Safin or something.

Troicki complaining that someone in audience is smoking weed. It happened 2 days ago on a challenger in Bordeaux. He goes to the chairman saying someone is smoking and can you smell it? The chairman confirms. Then Troicki goes back and says on a serbian language one more time "someone is smoking weed" :D

I'm not going to lie, that made me like Nick more :D

I actually didn't disagree with much of what he said. Apart from the Stan thing. That was over the line for me wrt to Vekic

As far as I'm concerned it was all "over the line!" Why go after opponents "ad hoc" like that just to score "honesty pts?" What about him?

Interestingly, maybe unsurprisingly, my feeling about Nick after that podcast are the same as yours. I enjoyed listening to his honesty. It's very interesting to see the world of tennis from his perspective.
I noted that he didn't say anything "explosive" or denigrating about Fed: he just praised Fed's talent and crowned Fed as the GOAT and above Joker & Nad, regardless if Joker eventually surpasses him in GS count. That last qualification is especially interesting and underscores how truly complete Fed is as a player and a person on and off court. Perhaps Fed is not just talented but also most "natural" person playing there. He does not need to hide his feelings and showing "fake" attitude on and off the court, while Joker & Nad have their tantrums & silly routines respectively, and they must display dishonest masks all the time in the interest of their PR image. Kyrgios can see these fake masks and as a brutally honest guy, can even see the true feelings behind the masks, and no surprise he does not like them.
But, even though Nick admits that "honesty is good as long as you know when to stop", he remarkably shows that he does not know when to stop. He's shown in this interview that he pretty much did not learn anything from Wawrinka controversy. He said he would not repeat what he said on the court back then because he knows that there are microphones that would pick it up. Not that he regrets it, actually he said that his slur was "not over the line" and that he does not regret it when asked explicitly about it. He has an explanation how his emotions have nudged him to throw out a slur but he does not regret throwing slurs and most importantly he seem not to care how Vekic feels about it. Oh, no: he stays as narcissistic with his judgement here as he was from the very start of this controversy! I conclude that Nick will always be as an immature child as he was at the beginning of his career, no matter how hard we the fans and ATP are wishing & telling him to grow up. And his playing style and the results on the court reflect that. That's the way he is.

obviously the test in the future is if he can take it as well as give it
I think he can take it AFA I understand his attitude. He's known to be a very "easy going" person so he will definitely not mind eventual rebukes at him, I have a feeling that he might even enjoy having a laugh at some serious ones.

Fed, as if thanking Kyrgios for a favourable opinion about him in the explosive podcast (where Kyrgios praised Fed while ridiculing others of Big3), defends poor Nick, who now faces consequences of his on court behaviour:

No coincidence? Joker & Rafa would rather condemn Nick now, especially after said podcast, so only Fed left to defend Nick. And frankly, there is no reason not to defend poor brat, Fed must even like him after that podcast. I actually agree with Fed (the fact that I'm Fed fan not withstanding here), Nick has done much worse things on court in his career and the maximum he received was 4 week suspension, why would he need to receive all of a sudden more serious suspension for just throwing a chair but not hurting anyone?

I'm not even going to defend Nick, but his opponent calling for a ban is out of order in my view. I don't see this as bad as Nalbandian injuring a linesman for example. The punishment seems appropriate

Totally agree. Ruud seems like a total loser to be trying to get the media to hype this up so Nick gets banned. A ban for what exactly?! That poor defenseless chair. Ridiculous. How about they ban him for being a prick for even suggesting it.

Ruud is probably more mature person overall than Kyrgios, but certainly far less intelligent than Kyrgios (both in term of rational and emotional intelligence) because Ruud both pronounces stupid opinion and does not understand what education tool is needed to fix Kyrgios' behaviour. Kyrgios needs a very good psychologist (not a suspension).
Kyrgios lost a match at his own pathetic request. And he needs to realise the match was there at equal terms 1:1 in third (even 1:2 after a game penalty, because that lost game that was Ruud's serve) so there was no reason to throw in another, this time defaulting, tantrum. So pathetically immature (over a move or a shout in the audience) even more immature than Maccy, who used to throw his tantrums over the umprire close calls. So Kyrgios needs a psychologist who can straighten up his emotions so that he maintain more rational attitude during the match. Sadly, as much as we all (except Ruud) wish Kyrgios a successful therapy, the therapy looks unrealistic, because Kyrgios already was there and failed. He's likely to remain immature child on the court. Although he's very intelligent both rationally as a player and emotionally as a social human being.
