Interesting tidbit. Rafa crossed $100, 000, 000 in prize money alone with his bounty from RG this year.

Fed and Novak have already crossed it. Next in line is Andy with 60 mil. Doubt he will reach 100 mil.

No way Rafa skips MonteCarlo, Barcelona, Rome and RG until he retires. He may skip Madrid as he does not really like that tourney very much.
I disagree about Barcelona, and maybe even MC. Depending on how his year is going, he doesn't have to play them anymore. Madrid, I think he'll skip most likely of all of them. I don't think he'll skip Rome, as a good tune-up to RG. But this is where his Fed-like scheduling might kick in. When he wins the AO next year, and does well in IW and Miami, he'll take the longer break, then just tune up for RG closer to the event.

Roger will win AO next year. He has yet to 3-peat there and he can overtake Nole for most wins. Time for him to assume his destiny, keep the dirt for the pleb.

Time will tell. Rafa has one owing there. PS: What's with your new trope of calling Maria Francisca "exotic?" I know you're always trying to work up some shade, but I'm not clear on that one.

Who said he has to play? All I said was he will play.

A bit parsing of terms. My point is that I think he's beginning to understand that he doesn't have to, and can't play everything, and I think he'll begin to embrace that, a la the Federer model.

No, you should just be happy that he is not playing in meaningless south American clay tourneys.

I think you know what I'm getting at. Xisca is one fine fox. Rafa should lock that one down, give her a baby and then quit.

But she's not the least bit exotic. She's his girl-next-door, though I get if you think she's hot. After 12 years, I think she's a lock. But let's be honest, Rafa just won another major and you're looking for anything to stop him, and now you're hoping that maybe a baby would do it. You're bordering on pathetic, at this point. You're reduced to hoping his personal life will stop him with a baby AND trying to say he's gay. Dude, you need to get a grip.

Rafa is the first tennis player to win 3 different tournaments 11 times.

The only 100 million Andy is gonna reach is on the Monopoly game board.

Don’t start with those stupid things because it doesn’t go anywhere, only that we can say things too that you are not going to like it

Wow you need to lighten up. I am joking about a lot of it. And saying Xisca is exotic is not a bad thing at all FFS. From my state full of beer-drinking and cheese-eating gringoes we do not see the likes of Xisca every day. I'm guessing you think I'm being racist somehow with that comment. Reaching much?

Obviously having a growing family would hurt his career most likely and it'd also put him on equal ground with the other top guys. I'm sure you'd be happy if Roger retired soon to spend more time with his kids. Hell, I'm sure you're happy when he first had twins and then got his second set. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how that can affect things. You just don't like that I say things many may think but not type.

Lol! Moxie you knew perfectly well what DF meant. Typical that you would try to go PC and beat him around the head with it. My goodness we take stuff too seriously on here sometimes

Why is Mary sticking to dull? She should leave him for a better man who will marry her.

Now you and @Federberg need to lighten up. That's not at all what I thought. You have to admit you insert a lot of insult when you write about Nadal, which you intend, and you used "exotic" twice in succession, so I wondered what was up there and asked.

I don't remember thinking about retirement when any of those guys had kids. It's really not the same as Serena having one. The Federer's seem to do fine. I do think they won't do it forever, but I don't think Roger would outlast that time anyway.

There's nothing insulting about calling an obvious beauty "exotic". Ralphy has done well for himself. I do want him gone from the sport as quickly as possible and a little rugrat would help! I don't sugarcoat things and that's part of the reason everyone loves me here :lol6:

Honestly, all of us long term Nadal fans, have been harping about his playing schedule over the years. Statistically, he's missed 44 tournaments, and at least 9 Grand slams with injury. This does not even include all those slams where he played with injury and lost because of it (I can count at least 5 this way). A lot of these could be avoided had Nadal scheduled judiciously. And one might argue, he would have had even more slam titles. Has any great player missed so many opportunities because of injuries?

Nadal is older and looking to change a few things. But again in his case, the more things change, the more they remain the same. I think the only time he will miss tournaments is if he's actually injured. That has been the pattern for the past 14 years and I doubt things will change. Of course, it doesn't make sense to play 3 ATP 1000 events and 1 ATP 500 before RG, but I doubt Rafa will skip any of them in his playing schedule. Clay is where he gets his points, and he wants to play as much as he can.

Kind of surprised by that remark to be honest. Thought you were on the East coast. These days I'm in freaking midwest, and even here you can see better. Now if you were talking about the SO of Berdych, Soderling etc - that is a different matter.

The Berd babe is in a class by herself. But Xisca is not chopped liver, not saying she's the hottest in the world but she could eat crackers and sardines in my bed.
