Grigor keeps trying to counter drop shots by drawing the opponent in. Sometimes you just have to rip it. That has a higher psychological impact on the opponent. They remember it more and makes them hesitate to drop shot the next time. This is match psychology he still has to learn

I like the way Grigor has set about this set. Just taking care of his business. If Nick wins it, it looks like it'll be his doing not Grigor's

Those last few points from Kyrgios were big time. When he swings like that it reminds me of Federer and Sampras. It feels like the other guy is just a part of his world

Lol! That was Murray-esque from Nick there, shouting at his guys to stand up and cheer him on

I agree with Chewy. There's so much Murray, Le Monf, Fog in Nicky.

There is indeed. Makes you want to watch his matches against the top guys. He's box office. I don't mind most of the nonsense from him. The Wawrinka incident though...that was weak stuff from him. It does make me wonder about those who dislike his on court behaviour.. how would they have reacted to Mac back in the day? I loved it

His on court attitude, not necessarily his game, is a combo of Murray (spoiled brat), Monfils (showman), and Fognini (arrogant). Just my opinion. That said, he can hit the ball really hard.

That was a hell of a point for NK, you have to say.

^Can't argue with that.

Meanwhile Grigor is playing strong tennis... quietly

Watching Nick play, I reckon his highest level is higher than all but a handful of guys. His challenge will be whether he can access that. When Sampras first started he would show that crazy high level in spurts, but few ever thought he would be able to harness it more consistently. That's the journey Nick has to go on. I could easily see Grigor winning the match right here. Just keep forcing Nick to try to access that mercurial level again and again..

It's a close match bit I could see Grigor winning the match right here to.

I don't agree that Murray is a spoiled brat. He's very self-effacing. He's just grump in his on-court demeanor and that's what he shares with Nick. Otherwise, I think your Frankenstein is pretty accurate.

Umpire is weak sauce. Two times now, Nick should have been warned

Seems like Nick Kyrgios is defeating Nick Kyrgios.

Too much puke pushing and predictable serving from Kyrgios. Why the guy pushes so often like Monfils when he can rip winners no problem is beyond me. Such a waste. That overhead was Djokovic at his finest. Retarded. Game over.
