Sir Andy'll only play Shenzen and Beejing then he'll end his 2018's season to work hard for 2019 : he needs more time to be fully ready (source l'Equipe) I wish him good luck for 2019 even if I'ld have loved to see him play in Bercy

The start of 2019 season (January is called "a tennis month" down under) is already kicking off in the media, with Perth already worrying they may lose their Hopman Cup despite 2019 looking very exciting with Fed & Serena coming!

Who would expect more perfect starts, that attract all kind of people? Both kinda fans who love the immaculate poster boy of goat-ness and the greatest queen and the biggest female brat in the history of the game, in one person, will come. I expect Fed's last year record attendance to be broken.
But I wonder what is this "ATP World Team Cup" that is threatening to displace HC from the tennis calendar. I just don't like it because HC is one of my favourites, unique tourneys (mixed, like GSes) & it would be unjust to terminate it. "ATP World Team Cup" comes with big money: $20M and sadly money rules, what a shame! Needless to say, said "ATP World Team Cup" includes men only by definition. What happens to women who are used to play HC?
I read further:
"Rankings points will also be on offer [at ATP World Team Cup], which would help attract the world's best players."
...and am puzzled. ATP have been diminishing the importance of DC (roughly the same team tourney) by removing points from DC, and now this new "ATP World Team Cup" is studded with points? Where is the logic and consequence here?

Points should be given for DC and other team events. Otherwise, it’s tough to draw top players. For example, why did Thiem not play Laver Cup this year? I wonder if he needed points to get to London.

World Team Cup sounds like a good idea. World Team Tennis should have been retired years ago. What a dud that is.

Logic (if I can call it), is simple. ATP is in control of points. DC is run by ITF. The suggested World Team Cup will be run by ATP which is in control of points. Got it.

USA and Swiss are in same group and so Fed will play across the net from Serena. I doubt it has happened before.

That won't happen unless Stan grows a pair of coconuts, shaves his legs and wears a skirt seeing as it's gonna be mixed doubles. It'll be Federer and Bencic v Williams and Tiafoe.

Believe it or not Nebaldian was driving this car running the Rally de Entre Rios and even many people though he is in very bad condition he has sent a message saying he came out completely unharmed, good for him

They say he didn't even suffer any injuries and the car, after two cartwheels, stood up in position ready to continue the race. Would be funny if it wasn't so scary. Did he continue?

Altogether a poor year for Kyrgios. He had quite a few injuries and missed a lot of events.
He has dropped down to 37 already and he may drop even further before the year closes.
He is now #3 ranked Aussie, behind De Minaur and Millman.

Well, he finally got a coach, so maybe the penny is finally beginning to drop that what he's doing isn't going to be enough. Hopefully, he'll have a better 2019.
