That set should be studied by young players, as it displays how truly great players will find a way. Roger was a mess early on, clawed his way back in, then won it - and Berdych was playing about as well as he is able to.

Yep, but Berdych dropped off significantly - he was really sharp early on.

His serve was bad in his first service game, but that's pretty much it. A couple double faults. His shots just looked really tentative, his back-hand weak. He improved once he lost a call...lit a fire underneath him.

What's with all the laughing about the net-cord, not net-cord? If it wasn't a net-cord, Federer should have conceded. Was it? Or wasn't it?

Great clutch play from Roger that set. The DF's are bad but part of that is due to Berd being able to attack his 2nd serve so well. Roger has been hitting really well with his back against the wall this tourney. It'd be nice to get an early break here and maybe put a dent in the Big Berd psyche.

Yeah, but he more just plateaued and didn't meet Roger as he improved. But he didn't start playing poorly.

His serve was atrocious in the first few games. He could hardly get a first serve in.

I'm not sure that Roger thought it was a let cord. The issue for him was that he thought the serve was out I think

Roger has had his number lately but you know I worry about this matchup more than anyone else he faces aside from Nadal and Djoker.
