Doesn't seem that ridiculous a suggestion to me. Maybe the tournament director has no favorite player but he is human...it's possible is all I'm saying. I'd cut off my left...hand if he likes Federer and still made the changes he's made the past 10 years.

I stand by that medium hard court statement. This shit is THAT slow with this heavier ball. Does anyone have the % of games held? That's perhaps the best indicator of court conditions, seems like a crazy amount of breaks for the first few rounds and we know it will only play slower by the end of next week.

I agree it's not conspiracy stuff. They saw the Austrialian Open final and thought they wanted a piece of the action too, so they decided to change some things to get Rafa through the first week.

Umpire docked a point off Fog for obscenity utterance. That got him fired up and he started playing well. Now, suddenly Andy is showing signs of "hip injury".

I like the Fog but him doing well on this stuff proves the point about the surface. I doubt he'd have even made the 3rd round normally.

Stupid fog stops the play and challenges when he has no more challenges. Thus loses the game while serving for the fourth set. :lol6:

Haven't had much time to watch tennis till now but the speed of the balls and court is horrific this year. I actually feel like vomiting all over the tournament director(s). Why the hell did the scum change to a heavier ball? Wasn't it SLOW ENOUGH ALREADY ? Thanks for ruining the best part of the the tennis year. This is meant to be f*****g grass you mongo f***s. Worst I've ever seen it and by the end of the next week with the courts all mangled it will be even slower. Absolute joke. It's just downright disrespectful that they want all the courts playing like crap these days.

The only good courts left are Dubai, Halle, Newport and Cinci ffs. The AO was better than usual this year but that's usually crap as well since 2007. Shanghai used to be fast but has slowed down a ton also but varies from year to year at least. This rubbish is just clowning the grass season and the game of tennis is being ridiculed. All they want is stupid, boring, ugly retriever tennis and non stop rallying. Attacking tennis and big serves are rendered useless on this crap. Hopefully someone assassinates the tournament director(s). No joke. Please, just shoot the selfish, stupid c**ts.

Fog had a beautiful opportunity today. He could have easily won the fourth set and instead he went on to lose the last five games.
Murray was physically struggling a bit too (is he limping or does he generally have a gait issue). If it has gone to the fifth set, they
would have closed the roof and continued today itself. Anything could have happened in the fifth, especially if Andy is feeling his hips or legs.

Fog has such easy power and effortless strokes, I am actually becoming a fan of him. If only his strokes and talent are put inside a good head, who knows how many slams he would have won.

Who knows tbh. Murray is the ultimate faker. The famous leg grabs and clutching body parts when he loses points is pathetic given they only annoy him when he loses points.

I'm not normally this worked up but this is a joke this year. What the hell is that rubbish they're calling grass? Disgraceful. Changing the balls is beyond pathetic. Someone should change the tournament director's balls. Surgically remove them, liquidize them and make him a nice smoothie. Clown.

It doesn't improve Feds chances alright. Then again, he did hand it to Rafa at the AO. The thing is that I think Djokovic will be in the mix now. I don't mind the slower conditions.

The smaller courts still seem faster than centre court though. The kick and spin on that 3rd ace was just downright nasty.

It is not just the posters here complaining. There is a concern over the state of courts expressed by many players and press. It is not that they did something different to the surface this year. It is just that due to the movement of tournament in the calendar, it is being played in hot conditions which makes the grass drier and more chomped up than usual. May be they should change the preparations next year, to take this factor into account.

Actually it was WAY hotter 2-3 weeks ago in London eventhough typically you'd expect July to be warmer than June. The heavier balls seem to be the main change.

The rain delays are usually an integral part of Wimbledon. After five full days of play, I have not encountered rain delay so far.
That itself should be playing a role in the court conditions.
