There was an interview on ESPN yesterday with Patrick, Serenas coach. It was very interesting.

He talked about Garbines tactic at RG last year of hitting down the middle of the court.

I guess it surprised Serena, and prevented her from playing her game.

Obviously, now they know, so theyll be better prepared ...

That tactic works surprisingly well at times. Stan used it at the FO last month as well.

Exactly. It takes players who like to open up the court, like Serena and Novak, and prevents them from doing their thing.

Thats precisely what Patrick said: it motivated Serena to become a better player. Again.
