he is an employee of Serena and goes about talking about his boss...this is a high stakes situation and any little morsel of info can be used against Serena. The Williams have always had a wall around their camp and that worked ...the ESPN box was getting too close to Sascha now they dont care about him....goodness knows why he was fired maybe Serena didnt trust him anymore.

First, Patrick has talked before, and if Serena had a problem with it, he would not be talking about her to the press anymore. Obviously, she doesn't have a problem with it because he continues to speak freely to the press, so if she doesn't have an issue with it, I am not sure why some fans take issue with his talking to the press.

Second, Sascha gave an interview with ESPN this Wimbledon. I am sure you can dig it up if you so choose stating that he and Serena decided to part ways because he wanted more. You can't blame someone for wanting to take a step up in their career. Serena wasn't about to ditch Patrick and be like ok Sascha coach me. Vika approached him after she saw that he was not at Australia. He then accepted the job. Also why would Serena get coached by Sascha. What was he going to improve in her game? He was in her camp before Patrick, but it wasn't until after Patrick came on board that consistency and a more nuanced approach took shape. If he was serious about trying to coach Serena, he would have taken her to that next level before Patrick. I am not knocking Sascha because he was an integral part to her success, but it isn't like when he saw openings that he took advantage and tried to assert a stronger hold on Serena's tennis. Look at it as a career change l am sure that is how Serena looks at it.
Gp Sunday.. the whole Serena\Sascha break up has worked for both of them or rather hasn't really affected Serena.. It appears they have moved on

This is all in Tossip's head. Seriously the amount of posts they have posted about Sacha and Patrick being scheming fame hungry people trying to take advantage of poor helpless Serena is endless... Serena is a strong independent woman who is one of the wealthiest sportswomen of all time. If she cared that anyone gave interviews she would stop it immediately. I think it's clear to most people that Patrick at very least focused and honed Serena's game for this second renaissance in her career. He deserves that credit.

Its just Tossip's style of posting.. I have found that tossip typically shed a differently light into the inner workings of the WTA game that I wasn't aware of. IMO

You're welcome to believe whatever you like. If you want to believe what Tossip says about Serena and her camp it's based on nothing but speculation. A lot of it could be considered libelous in a court of law because it's based on 0 statements by Serena, 0 statements by Sacha, and 0 statements by Patrick. Quite the contrary all 3 parties that Tossip writes about endlessly have stated nothing but good and cordial things about each other. If you want to believe that is the inner workings of the WTA, by all means go ahead. There are better more accurate and truthful ways of learning about the inner workings of a tennis player's camp.

No actually its you that is obsessed with this nonexistent feud and nonexistent problem with Patrick. Serena herself has credited Patrick.

He has earned the right to talk. He is always honest and keeps it about the tennis, so I don't understand what the big deal is about Patrick talking about Serena and her tennis and other player's games. He is a commentator after all.

I try not to reply anymore simply to write "Great post!", since we have the "like" button, but ...

Great post! :clap

Interesting, this is Muguruza's third appearance in a WTA singles final. She has been a perennial QF and SF foil but has rarely been able to go the distance. I think nerves are going to play a big factor.

What happened to Wimbledon's stated policy of putting Beautiful Blondes on center court?
Bad scheduling, they should have placed the girls finals on center court instead of this. :snicker

In the gear up to tomorrow, I'll say I like both players and can think of reasons to hope each wins. The calendar Slam is be a tantalizing prospect, and Serena can't have that many more chances at it. And no one will after her, for ages, I'm sure. But I like Muguruza a lot, and I'd love to see a huge performance from her. Her future is bright, and she'll survive losing tomorrow, but an upset would be kind of thrilling. (Sorry to the Serena fans.) As thrilling as it is unlikely. I hope Garbiñe makes a good match of it, and takes a lot of confidence going forward.

Serena always feels more comfortable been able to play aggressive but Garbine probably will try to keep her in the defensive area where Serena feels more uncomfortable and maybe it's going to work well for her. I think it's going to be a good battle and not very easy match, we'll see...:puzzled
