She would be on Ashe for every match even if she wasn't attempting a calendar slam. She's huge at the Open. I can't remember the last time in the previous 4-5 years that she hasn't played on Ashe.

So far for the draw: in Serena's octet: Radwanska, Keys and Stephens. In her quarter: Bencic, Venus and Pliskova.

Sharapova opens against Daria ouch! Azarenka, Caroline and Petra got decent draws. Overall, I would say balanced.

Sloane again in Serena s quarter...this is tedious
I want Serena to school Aga because I detect some tension between the two...from Agas end
its a doable draw for sure...

nobody is being dramatic its reality that they will do anything to try to stop her.USA Open has always been hostile towards Serena from footfaults to scheduling and silly fiines and shaddy umpires and line judges booes..its well documented..
then most players play GOAT tennis against her e.g Heather..
the good thing is baring injury they will not stop her...#22

Don't agree with most of what you have to say. However, I do agree with you that they will do everything and anything to stop her. Yep - your post is on target.
never agree with your angry behind..:snicker

Serena's draw is decent. Her interesting section is the Stephens/Bencic portion other than that it shouldn't be that bad depending on the SF/F opponent.

I disagree there. I can't think of anything they will want more than for her to complete the Grand Slam: an American player with the ability to complete a feat that hasn't been done in 30 years at her home slam. I think she will get a very good reception. I am sure the U.S. Open is probably seeing an increase in sales because of the history involved. I think she will get good scheduling and Arthur Ashe treatment for all of her matches.

Really? Keep believing that one if you want. They want her to win it so badly that they put the last player who beat her on her side of the draw. Any of us could have told you the Belinda would be on Serena's side of the "random" draw.

It is a random draw. If they wanted to screw with her why not put Azarenka, Cornet, Petra, etc. on her side to add to having Bencic. I mean they gave her Maria as her SF opponent why bother doing that if they wanted her to fail.

Besides, it is good for Serena to have that one match that will catch her attention. She won't take Bencic lightly, and Bencic is hitting at the right moment of the tournament for her if that match happens.

So it's Serena vs. Pliskova, Sharapova vs. Ivanovic in one half, then Wozniacki vs. Kvitova, Halep vs. Safarova in the other half. Good draw for Serena I think. Kvitova gets a good one too. If she makes it that far.

I think Serena's QF match will be the toughest be it against Pliskova, Bencic or Venus.

Vika gets a decent draw. I see her reaching QF, upsetting both Kerber and Lucie

Take another look tossip, it looks like it loaded with a lot of players that can slug it out with Rena.

I don't think Serena's draw is that bad really. Yes, it is full of people who can slug it out with her, but we all have to remember that yes Serena will have nerves, but her opponents will too if they get close to taking her out and being the one to deny her one of the few things in tennis she has yet to achieve. We have to remember there are a lot of question marks going in Sharapova is questionable, Vika is questionable (she has not managed to get back in the top 10 or even been to a final this year I doubt she can win a Slam as her first title of 2015), Petra is a question mark, Bencic may be iffy if she was injured, Venus has bombed her last few tournies, and so it may not be that cut and dry. I actually can see Vika being pushed out by Kerber. Kerber has had the better summer I would say.

So, I understand Plishkova has won the USO Series, which is ridiculous considering she didn't beat anyone in the top 50 during the series, nor did she win a tournament, just one final (Stanford).

Supposedly, she got double points for playing 4 tournaments.

Personally I think they are too giving with the point system. I think everyone should get a base amount for playing the tournament like 15 points, but you don't start acruing points unless you have reached the QF and on of all tournaments entered.

Ridiculous, in the two most important tournaments of the series, Serena wins one and make semi's of the other and she finishes second to a player best result was one finals.
