Wawrinka says: " I'm very close of Fed's level, I'm trying don't see the previous stats, I've learned a lot of him, Nadal and Djokovic and now I'm ready to beat them"

Meanwhile Becker says: "If Federer would have played the way that he is playing now against Mac, Connors and including me, we would have told him "you are doing well but honesty not against us, you wouldn't have passed to the next round without any doubt"

Weather is messing up the schedule. The Men's SF starts at 5 p.m. on Friday. Fed's match is second one. Let us hope that Fed gets to finish it on Friday itself. Otherwise, his chances of lifting the trophy will seriously be impaired.

Both on Saturday and Sunday, there is more than 60% chance of rain. So, both women's finals and men's finals may be in a mess.

Interesting, no one pick Fed in 5 or Stan in 3/4. Their most recent match was on clay, both one-way traffic, Rome by Fed and RG by Stan. Then it was last year WTF semi, highly entertaining. I hope they will bring it back tomorrow.

I will be in NY on Monday (working for a couple of days) so if they would play the final that day and after 7pm maybe I would have a chance to see that final live

Federer is playing great so far. Wawrinka is playing so so until now, but picked up steam today.

This can be looked up in 2 different ways.

1. Fed is playing so well, but Waw is playing only moderately well and so Fed has advantage.

2. On the other hand, one could say Fed is already playing at a high level that there is no room to up it any further. But, Stan can up his game several gears considering he does not seem to be playing well (except in today's match) even though winning without much trouble.

The head to head is 16-3. (all three on clay).

Hard court head to head is 11-0.

Grandslam head to head is 4-1.

The superstructure of Ashe favors Fed.

I think all of this points to Fed having a good Friday.

If nothing works, Fed has at least got Mirka to shout "Cry Baby". Stan has no one. That will be an intangible. :snicker

Fed in 3.5 (i.e, 3 or 4).

What do you mean Stan's got no one? He's got a 19 year-old to impress...which really...ain't that hard to do because most 19 year old GIRLS (not a woman, a GIRL) don't know caca for shinola. I like Stan...but no offense, dude, you need to date in your own age range and stop hanging out at tennis camps... :lolz: Uh...am I allowed to say that or am I going to get deleted? :cover

I am sure that she won't be in his box.

Why not? She was there last night sitting next to Magnus Norman. Put yourself in her shoes - she's good enough to get invited to the QFs on Louis Armstrong but not good enough to be asked to sit in the box at the semis on Ashe? Speaking as a woman - I'd cut him loose if he did that crap to me. Then again - I'm not 19 and 19 y.o. can be gullible and easily impressed.

Maybe Mirka's going to be his SABR against Stan? Sit her courtside...right behind Stan's chair. :laydownlaughing

In my very humble and apparently minority point of view, what a man does in his personal life outside of the court should be left there. I'll make exceptions for axe murderers but what a man does in his own personal life is none of any ones business. And we are fooling ourselves if we think we know even half of the story. I really dislike it when people putting down Stan for something they hardly know anything about.

Poor Boris. He's so freaking jealous that Roger is the GOAT and he's not even in the convo. You could tell that for years with his commentary. It's why he took the job with Novak. Novak wants to be GOAT, can't fault a guy fro that, and Becker wants so badly for it to NOT be Roger. He's not even trying to be subtle about it anymore.

:laydownlaughing He's on something. Maybe he's writing another book. This time instead of claming that all players cheat and then Novak have to clean up his mess, maybe he'll just write about how all these old timers could have beaten Fed back in the day. Fed's the only guy right now that if you gave him a racquet from 20-25 years ago would still be able to play great and win. So...sit down, Boris.

I'm with you Kirjax. I enjoy good natured combat among posters but speculating about behind-the-scenes stuff we really know nothing about seems beyond the definition of reasonableness.

I did not realize that she is already sitting in his box. Yes, if she is sitting in his box in LA, she would do so in Ashe as well. The stadium move up does not make a difference. I thought they decided not to go public with their relationship at this time.

Friday's weather forecast looks good. All four semifinals will get done (no matter how late it goes) without any problems.

However, Saturday and Sunday may be a problem though. It is not clear at this time as to how bad it will be and whether it will wash out the finals.
