Great final. Novak was ridiculously good for the first set and a half and Roger played great to win set 2. I predicted a 6-2 set to Novak as I'd a feeling Roger was getting a bit jaded but eventhough it ended 6-2 in the 3rd it was still a pretty high quality 3rd set for much of it.

Anyway, despite the booing, the better player prevailed.
I recognize, I had to take a bathroom break, after cursing heavily, when Novak coughed up the TB with back to back DF, channeling Dimitrov.

Well, while it was a good match, no way can it be called classic with both players making
so many errors. In particular the whole tb was decided only by errors 2 by roger and 3 by nole.

While I am ok with Roger losing the third set, I did not like the last two games where it
appeared that Rog's battery went out.

But, Novak really proved once again that he is the best in the business in medium slow
hard courts. In particular, he looked invincible for the first 1.5 sets.

Not a bad show by an old man though.

If anyone is feeling ambitious, you could review the thread for last year's final, and see if there are comments about the crowd. Same two players, both matches went three sets.

Disappointed, but it was a good match.

Congrats to Nole although I hope he doesn't dominate too much this year. Roger seems to be the only man who can touch him at the moment.
