Well, yours was certainly more creative, bile-filled and less-gross. Does that make you feel better? And now that you've had some time to reflect, any revisions?

Honestly, is there anything left to be said about today's fiasco? I went overboard with the comment, but he did humiliate himself on his favourite court. It sends chills down my spine when I start thinking about the rest of this season. Winning Wimbledon outright wouldn't fix the issue.

Actually, winning Wimbledon would. You're hyperventilating. I wouldn't call the loss today v. Djokovic a "humiliation," given the form of each. As much as I was hoping it would go differently, it was not unexpected. If Rafa played long enough, it was rather an inevitability that he would lose at RG again, and he lost to the best player in the world, at the moment. No indignity, really. Better than Soderling, eh? Getting back to winning form absolutely would make things better. Lose RG, but win Wimbledon or the USO? I'm sure Rafa would be pleased. I would, anyway.

I think Kieran nailed it in the "Is Rafa going to pass Federer" thread. Although some parts are fairly obvious, getting back to winning form, confidence issues, patchy movement, ue machine forehand etc, these are all things that were being talked about since the beginning of the season. Nothing is getting fixed, and the clock is ticking as much as I hate to say it.

Sincerely I would be more disappointed if Nadal would have played his best (like the previous years) and even that he would have lost . 2015 (until now) has been his worst year so far, come on, give him a break, he went through very bad times with injuries and his surgery, he came back clearly with a total lack of confidence, he has played like a roller coaster but more going down than up but it doesn't mean he could keep that way forever, something has to change in his mind in order to play better. The year has not finished yet, Wimbledon is in the corner and later the USO , the Bird Phoenix will raise again ;)

His movement is the bigger issue... it's not there the way it was. That affects his confidence, and it definitely affects his groundstrokes. Not sure he's going to make it through the second week of Wimbo, but if he can figure out a way to compensate for the recent limitations, he could make some decent runs on the cement.

A decent run on the cement or through it in frustration? :D

Kudos to Novak, he smoked Nadal, humiliated him on his best surface. Scary to think what would have happened in say, Miami or AO.
I hope you are happy GSM, Britbox and others, his retirement is knocking on the door. He will be pressured more and more about his losses, and will eventually crack.
The king is not only dead, he is burning in a crater. The only thing he has managed to do is ruin his win percentage on tour for the last few years. Same goes for Federer. Disgusting.
Happy birthday you cheap bastard, I hope this will be your last one on tour.

Wow, what a comment..........but remember this 'what goes around comes around'

And what is this supposed to mean, he will come back roaring like he did in 2013? :laydownlaughing
:laydownlaughing Alright then.

Nope, he has came back playing pretty bad but I think you has taken his loss too bad

Congrats to Novak on his win. The match could have gotten interesting if Rafa hadn't missed that overhead at the tail end of the first set, but it wasn't to be.

I thought Novak played great today. Rafa was better than I thought, but it would have taken a lot to get the job done today. Maybe 2008/2010 Rafa could have done it.

Really looking forward to a Djokovic/Wawrinka final. Hoping Novak wins because it would be interesting to see someone win the first two slams of the year which hasn't happened in ages.

It's funny really, I got so tensed up for the match, but sitting back and thinking about it now. Did any of us have any right to be surprised? Kudos to Novak for almost making it a non event. That's what dominant champions do

Interesting question - when was the last time Nike was frozen out of the semis at a men's slam - you've got Nole (Uniqlo), Murray (UA), Stan (Yonex) and Jo-Wili (Adidas).

^Wow! You can just imagine what Nike directors are thinking right now then. One of those guys is going to get a huuuuge offer. Probably Novak

That's real end of an era stuff right there. Nike and their Nike Fe-Dolls are failing on the big stage...

Not really. More like complementing Novak. We can't know how well Novak could have played had it been required. He definitely had more gears.

Deservedly so, but dissing the 2008 version of him. Wow.
We may never know, since that match will never happen but Nadal would have beaten him handily, and in this I am sure. His forehand, at the time, would have been too much to handle even for Djokovic I am afraid, and he would have held up nicely in the backhand exchanges.
