I liked reading this hope you all do 2.

Andy Murray is through to his eighth Grand Slam final and is closing in on Fred Perry's record of 10 Grand Slam finals. The British number one is also now equal 13th, alongside Ken Rosewall and Guillermo Vilas, on the list of most Grand Slam finals reached in the Open Era. Only three active players have made more Grand Slam finals. There are no prizes for guessing the three. Not even a token doff of the cap.

^Not sure how great a record that is for Andy. As Nike said once.. "you don't win silver, you lose gold!"

I saw first half of the match. The first set was pretty good, a lot of quality from both sides, but both players let their levels drop on key points. With all the beautiful shot making, the (half I saw) in the end was decided more by UFE than winners.

The first set was fantastic. When Berd-man ate carbs in the 2nd set, I switched it off. He's never demonstrated that he has tennis sized balls before, this was not the setting for growing that stuff!

Congratulations to Andy Murray for reaching his 4th Aussie Open final! Let's hope fourth time is a charm. I would say that Murray really wants to win this title to prove the doubters wrong. That is why he was very pumped last night. In addition, he wanted to show that hiring Amelie was the correct decision. I will you this: Even though Murray's game looks the same, I think having Amelie on his side has made him more confident and more relax. Finally, with this win, Murray is back to number 4 in the world so that means the Big Four has taken the Top 4 rankings.

As for Berdych, he had a good tournament. He beat Nadal for the first time since 2006 and he played 16 amazing sets. Unfortunately, that 16th set was ultimately his downfall. I could tell that first set took a lot of him both physically and mentally. But credit for Murray for making Berdych run a lot and move him side to side. That's one of the keys of the match. If Murray can make Berdych run from side to side then he would wear out Berdych. And that's what happened to Berdych. That's one of the reasons Berdych started to miss a lot of balls. Part of the reason is also that Berdych is just not mentally tough to win a slam.

Finally, this match showed you that it is really hard to win a slam in these days. Not only you have to be physically fit but you also have to be mentally ready to grind every single point. That's why Nole, Federer, Nadal, and Murray are hard to beat in a Slam because they are physically fit and mentally tough. They can play for long hours and they know what it takes to win a slam.

I don't know about you guys, but one thing that I guess helped Murray a lot was the low slice to the backhand. TB replied dozens to the net, some in quite important points. Credit to Murray for reading it correctly, but I guess he won't have a safe shot like that against either opponent in the final.

Murray to me has the best bhand slice in the game,he used it well against Tomas throughout the match

Murray has been flying under the radar so to speak all tournament I am thrilled he has a chance to finally win a title at the Australian Open, the plexicushion surface suits his game, also he got his first serve clicking, from memory served 13 aces.

I'm glad I didn't stay up to watch this; expected better! :cover Not a fan of Murray's game; maybe not ugly, but not beautiful either! I think it's "the act;" raging at his box one moment, then limping around another as if injured only to run like a deer the following point! :nono

I'm flummoxed as to why there's a media buzz about Kim Sears directing naughty words at Berdy. So what? She's cheering for Andy and she parped out a few choice ones. This isn't news. It's not even new. The media want sensation and scandal and uproar, but then as soon as anything happens, they react like prudes. That match had an edge to it, both men getting sarky and stroppy. That's good, isn't it? I mean, did I miss any rules being broken?

It's more a moral and gentlemen's code or courtesy to be a little more restrained in the "player's box!" The same emotions went on at the end of the year with Wawrinka and how he thought he was being unfairly "cat called" at by Federer's camp! I personally didn't care since I thought it would backfire and sabotage their DC aspirations! Some might say Roger defaulted that match in the Master's final to placate Stan in some way for that semi played! Lucky they pulled it together because they easily could have blown it! :dodgy:

Well, you see, a gentleman code shouldn't apply to a lady... ;)

Obviously not quite as classy and gentile as Collette Evert or Oracene Williams who applaud and congratulate the victor; no matter if it's an opponent! :p :dodgy:

Watching on ESPN2 the match replay
Muzz is playing like a master. He always has been my second fav player but he always has made me to feel frustrated due to many of his results playing against anyone:puzzled
