Wow. Great match for Roger, not so much for Novak. In fact, I don't think I've seen him play that poorly, look so ruffled, all year.

Roger is now responsible for half of Novak's losses this year. Not bad for a 34-year old.

This just changes the line up of the SF.

Now we get:

Fed-Rafa
Muzza-Nole

Are you counting on a Rafa loss to Muzza? I think that one will be interesting and it will likely decide who is #1 in that group.

Great job by Roger! Unfortunately...he's still going to have to beat Nole a 2nd time to win if they both make the final. I find it hard to believe that Djokovic won't make the final. Roger's probably going to to have to beat Murray or Nadal...given that Stan can't seem bothered to show up for anything but the occasional Slam these days...

Roger has either been really hot or really cold this Fall and it would take a really cold day for him to lose to Murray or Nadal on this stuff. Nole is a different story, it's impressive for Roger to win like this but it doesn't change Nole's status as favorite to win this event.

I doubt Murray is going to care either way since he's having a really hard time beating BOTH Roger and Nole these days. If he plays Roger he's going to be having flashbacks to last year's 6-0, 6-1 drubbing. If he plays Nole he's going to be flashing back to the 6 losses this year - some of which were downright embarrassing.

Completely agree with all of this.

I'm delighted Roger won, especially in straights. If Novak had taken the 2nd, I would have wanted Roger to lose. It's too early for him to play to the death in this round robin format, knowing he will almost certainly face Novak again.

That's true about Murray in the semis, however it's a bigger match for him tomorrow because he still has to face Stan who is a threat to beat him if he decides to show up.

Plus, Murray is only about half here anyway with Davis Cup next week. I don't think he's going to tank, but I don't think he's going to go full throttle to win anything either.

Seems every time Novak levels the H2H with Roger, he immediately drops a calf...

I think Muzza will win but the Rafa match will be very interesting. Stan couldn't care less, Murray is half in Belgium and Ferrer is in his pocket so Rafa is in the perfect group I think. And Yeah, it really doesn't matter who Muzza plays in the SF, he probably won't get through.

But anyway, very impressed by Fed today. Let's see him do that again in the final!

Not many people saw that coming!

I watched Fed playing Tomas and I knew it was a test run for Novak. He made the slow court work in his favor, no easy task and well done.
