Apart from Andy and Kei, all top 10 players have signed up for MC. When they first relaxed the rules
and made MC optional, for a while the attendance rate from top 10 dropped to about 50 to 60%.
I am glad that it has now picked up to around 80% in recent years.

Instead of having a different for status for MC, it may be a good idea for ATP make all
1000 events to be of the same status and let each player count his best 8 scores of the
9 ATP 1000 events for mandatory portion of the rankings computation.

That sounds like far too much common sense :lolz:

I've been using this one for awhile. Along with Wikipedia and the ATPWorldTour website, it is the best statistics page out there, as far as I can tell.

I love this page:

Janko Tipsarevic is no longer silent either and is back playing now after 1.5 years. Interested to see him play during clay season.

Novak admitted he was nervous in the super tiebreak and probably with his singles in mind had no intention of winning. Janko's singles for 2015 begins at Houston.

Here is an year old article by EdMcMorgan urging Miami to switch to Clay. It does seem to make sense to me. They surely cannot compete with the billions of Ellison. Best is to differentiate them from IW, instead of competing with IW.

Rafa is really trying to regain his championship form. I saw on his websites that he is practicing a lot with drills which is great that Toni and he are going back to the fundamental which is excellent. However, I never see practicing with his backhand a lot in the drills. I think he is trying to regain his hunger to be an elite player and he will relish in his role as the Hunter. I look for him to regain his MC crown again at the expense of the Djoker, Stan or Federer.

Tommy was the only person other than Stan to defeat Novak on the slow hard courts (Miami , IW and AO) not including the USO I like Tommy and we all know this has got to be his last run possibly over the next few years.

Wasn't able to find any updates on the return of Radek Stepanek. Anyone got any updates on him? Finding it hard browsing here with a tiny portable laptop and no mouse over in Riga. Home tomorrow at 5am and looking forward to a bigger screen and mouse :p

Was anything posted about Aljaz Bedene, who used to represent Slovenia, has applied successfully to get the British citizenship, so in future he could compete in the British team for Davis Cup?

In order to deal with the situation of players moving from one country to another looking for greener pastures and to prevent horsetrading, they have brought in a new rule for DC participation.
If a player has already represented one country in a DC tie, that player is barred from representing
another country in DC even if the player acquires the citizenship of another country.

However, I don't know whether Bedene has ever represented Slovenia in DC. If so, he would not be allowed to play for UK in DC even if he has become a British Citizen.

I looked him up on the DC website, and he's listed as playing for GB. Apparently never played for Slovenia: http://www.daviscup.com/en/players/player/profile.aspx?playerid=100062100
