RE: NBA Playoffs

Weird day. One series looked to be completely over and is now even going back to OKC and the other seemed like it was going to be dead even and completely up for grabs but now it is completely over. For all of Indy's problems they will be in the ECF with homecourt advantage.

I've no idea why OKC wasn't throwing every ball to Durant late in the quarter as Chris Paul was guarding him for some reason, and Blake Griffin played the entire 4th quarter with 5 fouls, yet it didn't occur to Scott Brooks to have them attack him.

Here is the deal.. If 5'10 Chris Paul is guarding my Grandma, Grandma is taking that shrimp to the hole and throwing it down.. Durant has got to take advantage of that mismatch.. As for Scott Brooks not getting Blake more attention, its two fold.. the refs are allowing Blake to continously roam as a bull in a china shop. As for Brooks has always proven thus far he is just a point C to point B coach.. who knows maybe he will become a Rick Carlisle.. A good coach that was a late bloomer to the championship mode.. I hope that lost doesnt come back to haunt OKC..

Paul is a great defender AP. He just isn't quick enough to stay in front of Westbrook (who is?) and Russ is also bigger and stronger and can back him down. He can stay in front of Durant no problem but he can't contest his shot and that's the problem.

Darth , I am only 6 feet tall, I can post up CP..CP is good for getting a lot of steals but his man on man defense isn't something that is going to give a player nightmares

That's why Durant needs to take a closer position to the basket when Paul is guarding him before receiving the ball. Great defender or not, he's not going to stop him.

Agree to disagree there. CP3 is one of the best defensive guards in the league but Westbrook is way too quick. Durant is too big and as mentioned before he should be posting up every time but that's not his game yet.

Darth,,, I can name about 10 other gurads in the league that are better defenders than CP3. He has quick hands but his feet are just average.. He doesnt have the height, strength, jumping ability or extraordinary quickness like a Rose or Westbrook to make an avg NBA guard worry.
However.. its just my opinon and I know how you are. stubborn to a fault.. you want CP3 to be your starting guard in the back court..

RE: NBA Playoffs

What is the consensus about the Game 4 between the Heat and the Nets?

You sound like Cali. There is more to the game than athleticism. Paul has been 1st team all defense 3 times and. 2nd team twice. Paul is quick enough, great hands, great anticipation, tenacious, etc. a total athletic freak like Westbrook is tough for anyone to handle.

50-50 tonight for heat-Nets. Lebron has to be more assertive throughout instead if just one quarter.

And they're still behind...heat are weak and Lebron isn't winning the title by himself.

Yep. He doesn't have a lot of help tonight. Chalmers has 5 fouls. Wade's been OK, but Allen and Bosh need to contribute more

46 points and only 22 shots. Cali is right that his weakness is being too unselfish at times.
