Maybe you're right, Riotbeard, the Irish become terribly religious on Paddy's Day and it would disrupt work. We drink religiously, yap religiously, opinionate religiously, and this is where the trouble begins... :snigger

Thanks Moxie. Then I'll miss it. Bad night to have a big final, the night before Paddy's Day. I wonder how they overlooked that... :nono

Come now, Br. Kieran, I'm sure you can find a watering hole in merry Dublin to wet your whistle AND observe the goings-on at Mr. Ellison's garden party. I fully expect you will find a way to remedy this little struggle of yours.

I would if it was Ralphy, brother. I'm gonna start in the Bailey, off Grafton Street, then head toward Baggot Street, will be in the smoking garden at O'Donohue's. Place will be jammed. Most likely, by the time they go into the 3rd set, I'll be beyond caring who wins... ;)

When I was in New Orleans, the parade went in front of my apartment, so I would have people over start cooking around 8 a.m. start drinking 2 or three hours later, then parade!

Haha! That's the spirit! And New Orleans is the place to be for a parade. Ah, I'd love to visit that place...

It's a tough one as I'm a fan of both guys. Roger above Djokovic and in this matchup while I'd like to see Fed win, I also don't want to see Djokovic completely out of sorts either heading into clay season either. Should Fed bow out early in RG I'll be rooting big time for Djokovic to pull his act together and win RG and Djokovic needs wins and preferably a title or two heading in to RG to put him in the right frame of mind.

That said, if Fed won a few titles before then too I'd be as happy as this fella here.

And waaay happier than the fellow here

Which is probably how I will feel watching the match... :(

Why do I keep thinking of Nalbandian today?

It's a great place that really understands the alcoholic, parading underpinnings of catholic holidays,. It's the day I get to force people to listen to the pogues and bring up my irish catholic grandma, even though I am not religious.

In Bob Dylan's Chronicles he has a fabulous page describing New Orleans, almost a mystical place, the way he describes it, lots of ghosts and music and crumbling graveyards. I think I'll have to prioritise a visit, during a festival time. Your granny is Irish? From where?

The South, other than that, I would have to talk to my mom. My grandma was born in the U.S. though. Maiden name was costello if that helps?

On New Orleans, it's a strange place, kind of best and worst of humanity all slammed together. I am probably moving back in the fall, but who knows?

I voted for Federer in two based on their performances this week, but if it goes three, then Novak will win.

It's the same old story: the guy who wins the first set will mostly go on to win. If Roger captures the first set, he'll probably finish it off in two, but if Novak comes back and wins the second, then he'll win in three.

Djokovic in two. Novak will want to avenge Dubai and the court is slower. Besides, that Dubai match was a weird one. No rain expected here, so let's hope Novak can keep the intensity this time.
