lost 2nd set and for a crazy reason I am still happy with what I see. Simo brain is in the right place and she has a chance of winning the 3rd because she is wired and plays well.
Mugu will be top 10 without a doubt, she just needs more mental toughness. She has all the rest.

First seed bites the dust today Makarova loses 46 16 to Bacsinszky. Lisicky loses to raising star Svitolina 67 36. Now Halep is in trouble in third set - will we see another upset? Sorry Simo not the best way to get back after US Open. Why did she pull herself into a sort of shell? First set was fine but then - well that's tennis. So Halep becomes the 3rd seed out today.

Another seed Sara Errani loses to Alison Riske 46 46

Svitolina is one of my fav youngsters she was down in the 1st set 0-5 and fought her way back to win the 1st set in a t/breaker.Then went on to win the match in straight sets.Elina's first serve has been her problem though I am happy to say when I looked at her first serve percentage in the match was a marked improvement from her last match.

Stupid BT tv dont show the Simona match and lost the best match of the day :D
I have no doubt that this is one of the best 5 matches in this event.
I had to watch in mute because the Romanian guys are just annoying.

Not a good day for seeds so far, they are falling like autumn leaves.

Tight match between Simo and Garbie, 3-3 in the 3rd set. Winner gets Elina.

I am surprised she won it. It was a heck of a rally. That's a replay I like to watch.

Even if Simo loses today I am happy because its her best match for months against a top 10 player, maybe a top 5 player. She is back in the real world.
Even if she drops to 4-5 in the rankings who cares?
She plays tennis again and can beat ANYONE now :) :) :)

Btw Svitolina will be not sweat for Simo (excuse my arrogance) but Simo may not get there

That was the best match of Simona Halep in last months and I am happy because she is back in business. :)
The draw and the titles mean nothing. I am here only for the tennis itself.
Svitolina wouldnt stand a chance against Simo because she is not a big hitter. It just shows how a draw and titles are meaningless.
Simona made the Paris final by playing bad players so what?... She won Doha by beating good players and thats what counts. Beating others counts, not vain titles.

I was happy with her today. She played well.
Call me an idiot. Who cares.

Her best match in months, she starts to understand her situation now. Good

Well well what a start of day 3 with 3 seeds out already. I certainly don't hope it'll continue with the next match coming up Caro vs Carla. Good luck Caro do your best:)

All those stress situations when the match is balanced... Simona is losing them now. She was winning 90% of them when she was ranked 20-30.
She is not used to the stress of being ranked 2. She is in a process, a good process.
Once she gets used to it she will be winning again. She played well today and just lost the critical points because of the stress.

Mugu is a great player. She just needs more mental toughness.

Garbie Barbie took down #2 seed. Simo keeps her early exit slump. Garbie looks more promising than last week.
It was the first meeting between the two, I suspect they will face each other many many more times.

A great match in my book. Gabi is top 5 player, only her mental fragility stops her from getting titles.
Who made these draws? It must be fixed in advance.
The remark above would have got me banned on another forum  :laydownlaughing
Crazy world of women tennis. So many things need to be changed in women tennis.
The draw system, the local power given to put low ranked players in center court, the screams, and many more.
Women tennis needs an upgrade with more professionals on top of it. Its too amateurish at present.

They should let people like Steffi Graf and Navratilova make the decisions. Players who played the game and were the best at it.

I thought Garbine played the big points well in the match and deserved her win.It was Simona's best performance I have seen from her in months.

^ Gabi is great, just needs more teeth, more "screams"... her mistakes overwhelm her too much.
Simona woke up at last after months of being on her own cloud. Welcome back to the real world Simo :)
Haide Simona! :)

Only if Simona wont lose her self belief and continue to be top 10 player. She can fall back to under 20 if she loses her confidence.
Gabi is safe, she is just rising and is care free.

Garbine need to learn to play with more controlled aggression on her shots, she is a player that goes for her shots,a reason why her ufe is often high.

When she makes ufe it takes her 5 minutes to mentally regroup from it. She is young and learns, great player.

How strange. I am supposed to be down and depressed after a lose but in reality I am encouraged and satisfied with Simona today. She was good and lost because of the stress of being no.2.
I hope she starts to handle the pressure better. So far she cant do that but she played some great tennis today.
Nice pure tennis and screams free.

Even if Simona wont be able to handle the pressure and will drop down the rankings, I dont mind.
She gave me so much good stuff and fun in Tennis. What she did until now was amazing.
