^ Not sure, I'd hope he'd go for #1. That's way more important in the grand scheme of things. But I bet he wants Davis Cup really, really bad

Since he's got more weeks at #1 than anyone, why is #1 more important? (OK, I guess, trying to stretch the lead on Sampras and CV on Nadal.) But as a personal goal, surely Davis Cup is more interesting. Contrary to popular wisdom, Roger has played a lot for Switzerland, to no benefit until this year. I'm sure it would be hugely gratifying, and frankly...fun!...for him to win them a DC. You're the Federer fan, so I respect what you would most like to see, but I'd bet that Roger's biggest goal for the rest of this year would be DC.

Totally totally agree!

Its funny how Federer keeps chasing things in 2014 and failing :lolz:
Here is a very likely scenario for Federer this year (and part of it already has happened):
- Lost the Wimbledon Final
- Had the perfect build-up to US Open but still couldn't win it, despite his main rivals not winning
- Playing more matches than anyone but not finishing #1
- Not winning the Davis Cup

When you are 33, that is an awful lot of energy used for zero reward (or only moral victories) :violins:

Speaking of energy spent, that's a lot of yours used on negativity. You've made it clear you're for France. If you have nothing else to say about the tennis, then please give it a rest.

I'm not for France, I just like seeing Switzerland lose - I don't like Wawrinka/Federer at all.
Plus its fascinating that Federer can be so severely hyped all year and walk away empty handed.
Its fascinating whether you are a Federer fan or not

Thank you for saying this Moxie! For the past few weeks I've fervently wished there was a way for me to block his posts. I try not to read them, and very rarely engage (except when it gets too much). It's ok to be supportive of the player you support, but I find the relentless negativity about another player tiring. I really enjoy dialogues with people who are passionate about tennis, fan-boys are an entirely different matter. Stuff like this can drive others of these boards...

Really I've no idea why I'm bothering to reply to your pathetic crap yet again but here's the edited version for you.

Its funny how Nadal keeps chasing things in 2014 and failing :lolz:
Here is a very likely scenario for Nadal this year (and part of it already has happened):
- Lost the AO final and also lost before the second week of Wimbledon.
- Couldn't even play since Wimbledon.
- Not winning the WTF or Paris masters.

When you are 28, that is an awful lot of energy used for zero reward (except for catching plenty of fish) :violins:

You're asking for this so here it is.

It's fascinating that Nadal can be so severely hyped all year and walk away empty handed. Remember the AO final? Remember the build up to Wimbledon and many claiming Nadal would win it? It's fascinating whether you are a Nadal fan or not

^ Nobody won more slam titles than Nadal this year.
And Nadal did better at Wimbledon this year than he did in 2012 and 2013 :clap
Nadal had a better 2014 at the slams than 2013, apart from the US Open which he didn't play.
Let it be noted that you guys veered off-topic and onto Nadal.
The End of your veering boys, now its Davis Cup time :clap

It'd tie him for years at #1 and he'd be the oldest by far to do it. I would think DC might be a bigger goal than finishing #1 for Roger but that's due to how great he'd feel to win it for his country. As far as his resume goes finishing #1 at age 33 would be much bigger. I don't think we'll see someone do that again anytime soon (and chances are he won't this year either).

I'm not sure French "hate" Nadal...it's juste that we'ld like to see a new winner in RG...it's boring to know the end of the movie

^ I wasn't even aware that I was unbanned until I got an email asking me to return.
But I agree with the unbanning (as I was only banned for posting about Nadal anyway).
I'm one of the few posters that doesn't admonish others for having an opinion :spacecadet:

No, you were banned for being unbearable and derailing everything with irrelevant posting about Nadal. Big difference.

2014 Davis Cup is not yet over.

However, the draw is already out for the 2015 Davis Cup. Again, USA gets Britain (last year
for Murray representing Britain assuming independence for Scots), Swiss gets Belgium (should
be easy, they got only Goffin), Serbia gets Croatia (we can see how the new
Cilic matches up with Novak) and Spain gets a shaft :)nono they are relegated
to zonal competition).

Germany [c] v France
Great Britain [c] v USA
Czech Republic [c] v Australia
Kazakhstan [c] [*] v Italy
Argentina [c] v Brazil
Serbia [c] v Croatia
Canada [c] v Japan
Belgium [c] v Switzerland
