And Jelena serves Woz a tasty Serbian breadstick in that 2nd set...ugh. Good win for Jankovic

My 6th ranked celebrations are on hold  Aga will take care of her in the QF :D
I still believe in Domi to beat Petra and make Simo 6th in few hours :)

Congrats to Simona

Also, It looks like Caro will never go to her great heights again. And even when
Caro was at peak, she could not win a slam.

Semi final in Dubai and R16 in IW is an improvement compared to her previous 2 tournaments where she lost in R32 (Aus and Doha). JJ played very well today. Caro improved in last month.

Thanks Si for the positive thoughts, but hand on heart Caroline played lousy today - she didn't put anything in the match so a very disappointed Hoergren and don't blame the golfer he's nothing to do with that. To me there is a danger that if she drops too far, she simply stop playing and concentrate about being a housewife. I hope it's only a single flaw but I didn't see any commitment in her gameplay and Jankovic was NOT unbeatable, but if you hand her the balls all the time she only needed to send them back because Caroline wasn't a road runner today - well perhaps I should have a Carlsberg anyway to have SOME comfort and wait for my second player Aga - please win Aga so I have one positive thing today. Congrats to Halep for her big win today:clap

The Petra v Dominika match is a winwin situation.
If Domi wins then Simona will have an historic moment (will rank 6th) :)
If Petra wins then $ugarova will drop from 5th to 8th after IW :snigger ;)

Thanks :) Its a huge win and I dont care if it looked ugly to some fans.
Caro must believe. If she believes, she fights. If she fights, she wins.. its a cycle. It may sound stupid but thats what its really all about. No player is perfect.

All I heard about the Match was that Genie's play was awful! Apparently from those that saw it they thought Genie was nervous playing Simona. Congrats to Si :)

that kind of toughness you showed in the last couple of games in the final set is what get's you to finals.....
Thats what gave her 7 WTA titles. Dont be fooled by "the Tennis" if you know what I mean... :)
She is a warrior. Thanks for the congrats :)

Miss on an overhead volley by Eugenie ,
Genie choked in the last game but it was a very tough match and Genie played very well imo.
She almost won it.
The word choke is completely inappropriate here. The match was very even in the final set, and if Genie had got to 40-15 in the 10th game who knows what may have transpired. The overhead miss made it 30-30 and that proved costly to Genie. Simona came back from 3-4 and I think she again showed the world what a intense competitor she is, and with that intensity put the pressure on Bouchard, and ultimately won the match. I give full credit to Halep.

That is not correct at all. How can you play awful when you win a set 6-1? Genie showed some nervousness, but still maintained composure from the part of the match I watched. Yes, Rose I am Canadian and try to remain unbiased but you did not get the correct information on this match. I also write a tennis column for our paper on Vancouver Island and feed Tennis Canada scores when I have a chance. I have followed the sport for too many years to count! Oh, yes Simona played well and deserved the win too.
