No kudos for Wawrinka? The reason he won that match was that he held his nerve in the clutch and didn't get tight. Historically, Wawrinka would generally have lost that match. Today, he didn't get tight, didn't play safe and kept going after his shots. He had the belief.

Too often "the field" get slammed for not stepping up. When they do, the elites get trashed and thrown under a bus...

Give Stan his dues.

No. Novak needs to retire.

Also add in the fact that Djokovic has not lost a Slam match since the 2010 FO when winning the first set.

So, what a great win by Stan Wawrinka!

Time to stop the bleeding - fire Becker

This can't be Becker's fault. Please. Whatever Becker was hired to do can't even have kicked in yet. If you trust your guy, you should trust why he hired Becker, but the results aren't going to come in 2 weeks.

HELLO EVERYONE... I was trying to bring some humor to a rather gutting loss.

Do I think Becker is a disgusting dissipated philandering mess? Yes.
Do I think he's the reason for Nole's loss? No.

(and moxie you wish he'd kept Todd Martin)

See my above. I apologized for not getting the joke. And, no, I don't wish he'd kept Todd Martin. TBH, I never paid enough attention to Todd Martin beyond the jokes from the Djokovic camp. I think he should have kept that doctor who was also some kind of a motivation guru for him. As far as I can tell, that's the difference in his mind-set from 2011, camp-wise.

I'll give Stan his dues. As I said earlier, he had a lot to prove, and he did. Yes, the field gets slammed for not stepping up. Wawrinka stepped up. All credit to him.

And Novak played a nice piece of something that definitely doesn't rhyme with tennis. But definitely hats off to Stan.

I blame the egg..where is his magic egg ?,

novak needs to climb inside his magic egg and revitalise his essence..

its either that or go out on the razzle with old boom boom boris.

I realize its ridiculous to blame Boris for this, of course, but I would love to know what Vajda thinks right now.

Novak being pushed at the AO is nothing out of the ordinary, he played 5 setters in 2012 and 2013, but he always managed to come out on top with clutch play which he missed today.

Last year an awful overhead or ten cost him dearly. This year it's the volleys that are killing him :nono

About the draws, it shows the importance of the matchups. Wawrinka is a bad matchup for Novak, which made this a not so easy draw although it looked like that on paper.

Although I still feel Rafa's draw is hard. We'll see if he makes it.
