Great display by Nole in the last two sets. Very good match overall and more positive signs from Roger. Enjoyed that one!

Great first set from Roger but his serve let him down bigtime after that, coupled with Novak upping the pace noticeably from set 2. It's good to Roger playing better in any case and I'd say the result may be different next week with a bit of better serving. That's it from me. Good win for Novak and I was gonna be happy whoever won as I still hold out hope for Novak to finish the year as number 1. Good luck in the final. Won't be watching the next semi as a one sided Spanish gruntfest isn't very exciting.

Baby steps for Roger this week, and he got the brutal section at YEC. He will need to beat DP again because there is not much hope against Djokovic. You don't go from horrid all season to being able to beat Djokovic

Glad to see you positive about him, Darth.

Speaking of "Darth", there's a Star Wars nonsense thingy has gripped me on TV. So bad it's good television, I must admit...

Somehow I have the impression that Fed always starts well against Nadal and Novak. Plenty of examples in which he takes an early lead in the first set. But often he ends up losing the set anyway.

Substitute the word "match" for "set" and you're still correct in today's example.

Djokovic held steady after dropping the first, and did what we've come to expect: come back from behind and win.

Congrats to Novak. :clap

Good match for Roger---but similar to Cincinnati he has a hard time keeping it going for 3 sets. Did anyone else notice the MINIMAL handshake/eye contact after the match? I've heard the two of them are not BFFs, but the coolness was pretty obvious to this observer.

What does Federer resent him for? Letting Nadal get too close to his Slam record?

It goes all the way back to 2006 Davis Cup and really picked up steam in 2008 after the AO semi with his family talking a lot of trash. I like the spite between them, that is what competition should be.

I also remember the 2008 Monte Carlo semi when Federer told Djokovic's box to "shut up".

I'm pretty sure it was "Be quiet, OK?"
"Shut up" is rude, and Roger is not rude.
