I didn't say big names, I said the pool of available QB's would be big. I can think of 3 or 4 right away:
Freeman
Vick
Anderson
Henne

Although, not a free agent I don't think Schuab will be back in Houston and he would be available.

FYI AP: Lovie was beloved to all the players and it didn't help his chances of staying.

A big pool of garbage is worse than a small pool of sharks. If they are letting Jay go they are probably planning on keeping McCown which would be a dumb move IMO.

Well, they've made a few dumb moves over the years haven't they? Olson ring a bell? How about not bringing Urlacher back for a year when they were making all these defensive changes. Letting Rivera go as defensive coordinator a few years ago. The list goes on, but I'll stop there.

Ok.. the winner is Darth Fed--dude , did you go 13-3.. are you on Roids:clap Awesome picks

Ironically I did average in the work pool since I put a lot of points on Atlanta (didn't realize the forecast), Pittsburgh (stupid call to put a lot on that as the game figured to be tight) and Oakland (another dumb call with Jennings out with a concussion).

My bets in the weekend were superb though, picked Jacksonville straight up, parlayed the Eagles and Bucs to cover, picked New Orleans and Chicago to cover, and picked Atlanta to cover. The only one I missed was picking Atlanta straight up. I bet Auburn and FSU too! If only I was always this accurate. I'd be a millionaire in no time

So you are telling me that you are the type of guy if you go to Vegas.. its not for the shows and the loose women but you go there to place your bets at the Vegas odds sporting betting venue:cool:

I am good at betting the NFL, so if I venture to Vegas (a dangerous move for one of my kind) then maybe I will spend the sports winnings on the loose women, and then some :laydownlaughing

Of course I'd probably blow a crap load on blackjack. My weakness.

I have learned my good friend to stay away from Vegas playing blackjack.. take a trip down to Chitown and go to the Rivers Casino, the odds at blackjack is better than most places. however I have done well at the Potawatomi casino in Milwaukee if you stay away from the "bad" blackjack players jumping in and out

Potawatomi is about 20 minutes from me so I go there a lot. I think they do something to those tables there, the streaks defy mathematical probability. I hear you about the clowns though, they pop in $10 play one hand and change the entire shoe. I count cards (most basic count) and still get taken to the cleaners there more often than not. I am going to hit up their poker soon, I hear they have $1/$2 cash games and tons of fish.

As a Packer fan I was very happy to see Olsen go, I knew he was a top 10 tight end and was shocked when they let him go. Not sure Urlacher was going to make a difference this year but maybe.

I disagree about Rivera being retained because Lovie had control of the defense and there may have been too many witches stirring the brew.
Olsen was ok but wasnt a Tony Gonzo type of player so no big lost there. Kskate, you know the deal with da Bears.. They dont have a lot of cash and they are cheap.. Why wold those idiots not build a Stadium with aleast a retrackable roof so you can get atleast a SuperBowl(having a SuperBowl in Detroit and NJ but not Chicago seems to be a bit unholy).

While I agree Olson wasn't TGonz, he was alot better than his replacement (Kellen Davis). Really! This guy was so bad. Couldn't catch a cold in sub-zero weather. :lolz:

I know how cheap the McCaskey's are. That being said, they pay when they want and for who they want (no matter how idiotic it seems to the real world). You're right about the roof. They spent all that money revamping Soldier Field a few years back and didn't even entertain the idea of putting a roof on it. Instead, they added more seating so they could stuff more people in there and sell more tickets.

You can't change Soldier Field into a dome. Same with Lambeau. Too much tradition after all these years to go the same route as Minnesota and Detroit, 2 teams devoid of any tradition.

The Bears' problems the last 10 years have started and ended at qb. Cutler is a top 15 qb and that has gotten the Bears to the NFC title game and a couple seasons done in by injuries and late season collapses. This is the first year in a long time the defense has been poor and the only reason the team is even hanging onto mediocrity is a backup playing out of his arse. If McCown somehow never comes down to Earth or the Bears get their hands on an elite or near elite QB they will be a force.

Just look at your neighbors to the North to realize what an elite qb does for an NFL team. I've told delusional homers in this state for years that this team would be absolute trash without Rodgers, stick Eli, Romo, or Rivers on this team the last 2 years and they wouldn't have made the playoffs. The Bears have had a better all around team than GB for most of the past decade but the Grand Canyon gap in QB more than makes the difference.

Onto week 15:

San Diego @ Denver - Denver
Washington @ Atlanta - Atlanta
Chicago @ Cleveland - Bears
Houston @ Indy - Indy
New England @ Miami - tough one to call but New England always finds a way annoyingly
Philly @ Minnesota - No AP, no prayer. Eagles
Seattle @ New York Giants - Seattle rebounds
San Fran @ Tampa - Upset potential here but I think San Fran takes it
Buffalo @ Jacksonville - Jacksonville to continue their run
KC @ Oakland - Chiefs
New York Jets @ Carolina - Carolina
Green Bay @ Dallas - It seems doubtful that Rodgers will play which makes me think he might not be ready at all the rest of the year and a loss here is almost certainly the end of the season. With him this is 50-50 without it is 1-99. Dallas is the pick.

Arizona @ Tennessee - Arizona
New Orleans @ St. Louis - New Orleans
Cincy @ Pittsburgh - Cincy
Baltimore @ Detroit - Detroit

You bring up some great points about the Bucs vs da Niners..Jimmy H has to turn loose the clutch and unleast the full arsenal now that Crabtree and the running game is back to top form. even though its an east coast game, the 49ers are typically one of the better teams that travel East. I think that the seahawks game may be a trap game because the Giants are playing for their season and may get overlooked by Seahawks..The Lions vs Raven game is a scary game too.. I think that if Da Bears can drop 45 on Dallas, the Pack should be able to drop aleast 30

Looked to be a pathetic loss for Denver last night and just like that New England is lined up perfectly for home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Miami game this weekend will not be so easy. the Dolphins typically play the Pats tough in South Beach

True, the fact of the matter is New England is not that good but then neither is any AFC team. The Broncos look eerily similar to the Packers of 2011 and 2012, amazing qb and no defense. If Peyton looks like "just" a top 5-10 qb like last night they are in trouble.

Jerry should sell the team before this joke of a team causes his health to deteriorate

I would have called it one of their most improbable wins even before it started and then add in a 23 point deficit at the half and it was impossible. Only Romo and Jerry's girls can pull that off.

Stephen A is going to crucify the cowpokes and Jerry & as u say so brilliantly, his girls.this time it was Romo who folded like a cheap suit on a weakass salesman or preacher from the back woods.

Looks like no one wants to take the top seed in the AFC. Cincy is another one of those teams that can't play a lick on the road. Denver has @Houston and @Oakland to end the season. Tough to picture them losing either of those.

Baltimore has @Detroit, New England at home and @Cincy to close the season. That is brutal. They will be desperate tonight and a win would be huge for Green Bay.
