Halep just retired from her match with Rybakina
Hi,Just got home,do you know the reason why Halep retired?

Pliskobot regaining #1 is probably the worst thing for her. She doesn't perform well w/ a target on her back. She does better when she can fly under the radar, not that I believe for one second she will win a slam anyway (especially against the likes of Bianca, Simona, Naomi, Ash across the net). The No1 ranking will be on the line in Wuhan between Ash Barty and Karolina Pliskova.A semifinalist last year,No1 Barty is defending 350 points.Karolina Pliskova lost in the opening round last year, would need to reach the q/finals to add points to her ranking total (replacing her current 17th best result of 180 points).
If Barty loses her opening match,Pliskova will return to No1.However,if Barty wins her opening match, then Pliskova will need to reach the s/finals and advance a round further than Barty to return to No1.If Barty and Pliskova meet in the final, then the winner will own the No1 ranking after Wuhan.

Kuznetsova came through qualies and lost to Svitolina today
6-4 6-2
Riske or Qiang Wang next for Svitolina!
Well she got to the USO final in 2016 losing to Kerbie. Then she got to the SF in 2018 losing to Serena. So she did well there for 3 consecutive years until this year. I still don't believe she'll win one though. A lot of things would need to happen (a perfect storm) for her to find her way back to final and then have the right kind of opponent on the other side. From memory the best result she had in a GS was at the USO in the semis 2017,though I must say Barty has not been playing that well either, not since RG well she played well all tournament, she does have semi final points to defend as well.

Ugly win from Barty though she got to the q/finals 63 75,she will need to improve if she wants to go further in this tournament
I like her draw. Sabalenka, Bertens Remaining in her half (other quarter)
Pliskobot sent packing in straights. P3tra is wearing that unflattering short ensemble. Who was it saying that Vika is the only player to successfully pull off the shorts?
