Nice, crisp tennis from Novak today. Very well played. Rafa was a bit too defensive in returning and he paid for it. Can't wait for the Australian Open.

this was pretty much expected. we said before the match that nadal is spent and playing very poorly.


more specifically, if he did not correct his return and his backhand, this was going to be a very tall order.

he missed all those forehands because he was not even moving his feet.

this is not the nadal you saw in montreal, cinci, and flushing meadows. his clay campaigns took a lot out of him too. he is just one man.

the man is worn out completely.


its a good loss as far as I am concerned. at least he knows he has work to do now if he wants his hands on the Australian open crown. this loss will force him to work harder and focus better in 62 days.

next slam is now just 62 days away.
