After announcing her pregnancy in August, Angelique Kerber put an end to her 2022 season. But she is fully committed to returning next year.
" I don't know what time or which tournament because I really want to take the time" Kerber said. "And when I come back. I want to be back 100% fit again and feel good. This is the plan'".

Serena had something on her Instagram she was in a tennis outfit with racket, and it had a countdown until game time. Any ideas?

Today is the deadline for main draw at the AO 2023. Just about everyone on the WTA side is on board for the first GS of the 2023 season.
Except Simona Halep ( No 10),who had a positive doping test in October, though updated news she has sought an emergency hearing for her doping suspension, after laboratory tests showed product contamination of the prohibited drug Roxadustat's presence in her system., though the ITIA can be slow in their hearings., regardless.
Daria Saville ) No 54 who blew out her ACL and had surgery, so she is out for awhile.
Players protected rankings are,
Sofia Kenin ( No 4), Anastasia Pavlychenkova ( No 21), Karolina Muchova ( No 22), Marketa Vondrousova ( No 32), Laura Siegemund ( No 57), Patricia Tig ( No 65 ), Jaqueline Cristian ( No 65), Eveniya Rodina ( No 73), Zheng Saisai ( No 89) and Kristina Kucova ( No 90 ).
However it is possible Sofia Kenin, a former AO champion, gets a wild card and dosent use her PR. Kenin getting a wild card would give a spot to Harriet Dart of GBR.
Nadia Podoroska will use her PR so that makes 11 players using their PR

Caroline Garcia was awarded the medal of honour by the city of Lyon having grown up in the city and still residing there. A great second half of the 2022 season saw Garcia advance to and win the WTA Finals.

Caroline Garcia will be coached by Juan Pablo Guzman, next season according to L'Equipe. Garcia used Guzman as a coach during her title run at the WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas. Guzman will only travel with Garcia to some events next season.

She needs to play in the main draw at big events.I don't want her to be a star of the ITF like Taylor Townsend.
Up to #90 in the live rankings, another win and she could be at or around #75. (PS. My Taylor is playing "down under" this year so I think she may be taking her career seriously now.)

Can Alycia make a splash in 2023: beginning at AO
She is playing challenger events at present, the last one of the year, is in Limoges a 125 WTA event, next week, I expect her to play to get more ranking points, so lets wait how she fares, playing challengers and into a main draw of a GS event is a big jump.

Former world No 11 ( 2018), Anastasija Sevastova has given birth to her first child, a daughter named Alexandra, she shared the news on Instragram with her long time coach and partner, Ronald Schmidt. Sevastova has been on maternity leave since the start of the season.
