17 year old Czech teenager, Linda Fruhvirtova has made her first WTA final in Chennai Open, she will play Magda Linette in the final, on Sunday,Linda is the youngest finalist at tour level event since Coco Gauff won the title in 2021 Parma. Linda is a very talented young player one to watch for the future.

Rybakina cruised past Bogdan, who'd played so many hours already!

Hope for a good final with Siniaková in the Slovenia open.

I've been following Katie Swan in the Chennai open. Good effort getting that far. Arm and shoulder all strapped / taped up.
Seemed under the weather couldn't continue.

I watched the Podoroska v Bouchard match. Genie got outplayed towards the end.

Katerina Siniakova captured her first singles title since 2017 upsetting reigning Wimbledon Champion Elena Rybakina No 3 seed, 67(4) 76(5) 64 at the Portoroz tournament. Elena has been disappointing since her Wimbledon win, I thought she could do well on the HC, to me her game is suited, not to be at present.

It isn't a physical issue. It's completely mental and she's probably having a letdown after that win. Let's see how she does after the season break down in your backyard.

In regards to the WTA500 Tokyo tournament there is not testing or quarantine required for players/staff coming into Tokyo, if they're vaccinated. But their definition of vaccinated includes the third (booster) shot.
Close contacts of a positive test at the tournament have to isolate at least 3 days ( up to five days). For the rest masks are only required in treatments rooms etc. Recommended elsewhere.
I have noticed most of the fans in the stand are wearing masks.

Yes, Brenda 15 years old is currently ranked 195# playing lower grade tournaments where possible, given her young age, and restrictions, Czech tennis federation over the years have produced some great players, Linda and her sister Brenda are 2 players to watch in the future, both talented.

Maria Sharapova hints on possible comeback next year,

"I practiced with my old coach a few weeks ago in LA and I was like wow I could still play on clay swings and who knows I may possibly win Paris next year ha ha"

I have no words!

I blame Chrissy and Ken Flower (aka Ken Doll) when Pova was joining them in commentary at the USO recently, you know Chrissy has never got over Pova's retirement., probably spurring her on to make a comeback

Chris has never liked Serena, she wrote that essay urging Serena to apply herself, not considering what Serena was going through after losing her sister. She has written another passive aggressive essay praising Steffi, saying that she is the "goat".I know she would gladly welcome pova with open arms since nemesis is now retired.

Iga had a tough match against Tomljanovic. After a brilliant start by Iga the first set lasted well over an hour, as the Ausatralian fought her way back. Lots of "juice" games in the match and a lot of errors from Iga, but she won anyway after retirement of the Australian. Actually a watchable match but, Iga is a little error prone after a break since the US open.
